Gasket Fits but Door Will Not Close
Dear Parts Select,
The gasket fits the door, however for some reason the door will not close. The new gasket appears to be too thick and is prohibiting the door from closing all the way.
Help!? Not sure what to do?

The fresh food refrigerator door did not seal when close.
There are some videos on the Internet showing how to replace the gasket on a refrigerator door for newer refrigerators. First you have to warm up the new gasket you can put it in the sun or even hot water. When you sure that the gasket is soft enough and have no kinks you can start. This old refrigerator have 4 metal brackets w

Just to be on the safe side emptied the shelves and get them off the inside of the door. You can begin by opening a few screws, not all the way, on the metal brackets in one corner. Take the old gaskets out, and put the new gasket in that corner. Make sure you don't push it but something sharp so it will not rip. When the lip of the new gaskets is in Titan those screws and start on the corner diagonally, and do the same thing with the other corners one corner at the time, this will make sure that the plastic liner inside the door will not move. If the door does not close all the way you can use hair fan to warm up the gasket and adjusted so close better.
