The GE Freezer seal.
Great customer service when I ordered. Very knowledgeable and got me the right part for my freezer. I followed the directions very nervously, but the ease of which everything went back together was a amazing! I warmed the seal on my driveway in the hot sun, and when I pushed the seal in, anything that didn’t automatically connect, I warmed with a hair dryer and pushed it in. Highly recommended!

Old door gaskets needed replacement
Gaskets designed to just press a flange into channel around doors. I tried everything..I pre-heated gaskets ; I put dish soap around flange; I used (carefully) a heat gun as I pressed gasket in. Really very difficult to get the gasket to seat fully. I don't know if there is a tool to help you do this, but you need strong fingers/thumbs an

Just lightly heat along the gasket with the doors closed and press open the fold with your fingers. I let the doors stay closed over night. Works great now, but I probably will call a repairman the next time. I miss the old gaskets with a zillion screws..PITA, but easier.

The freezer door doesn't stay closed/bounces open. Does the door gasket part have a magnet in it? Can this gasket be installed by the homeowner? Does it just stick on?Thank you
For model number GTS22KBMBRWW
Hi Shelly, Thank you for the question. Yes if the door is sitting level, I suggest replacing the gasket as it seems it lost its magnetism. Most of our customers are DIYer`s and have done the repair on their own. The gasket fits into a groove between the outside door panel and the inside panel. You will be able to see how it fits on once the old gasket is removed. Hope this helps!
