Removed 2 3/16 bolts and burner, set the oblong burner over the orifice and we were all done

Why would this part not work on my Frigidaire range? Currently it has a round center burner, but there is an oval indentation and the burner looks as if it would fit and replace the round one for use with a griddle. It seems to fit dozens of models.
