Our oven would not light, so we got a new igniter and safety valve. Now the oven lights but the flame runs wide open and we cannot control it with the knob. The same number is on the orifice as the old valve, m46 56. Is this the right valve for the oven or why can I not control the flame? The number on the new safety valve is 1647 b2053792anat.
For model number JGBS23GEV3WH
Hello Jeff,
Thanks for your question. This situation could arise due to the orifice spuds. You appear to be using LP orifices, which would be either part number PS240770 or PS240769. We would advise replacing the orifices.
I hope this helps.
Hi Mary,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes the safety valve can be converted to propane. Please consult your owner's manual for instructions on how to adjust it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
