buttons on front panel of microwave would not work
Unplug the microwave unit from power source. I removed the air vent from the microwave that is located at the top of the microwave. Next I unscrewed the control panel that was held by one screw towards the top of the microwave. The panel then needs pushed upward to release from main microwave chasis. Gently remove control panel. Unplug the 3 main communication lines and the 1power line from the PCB. Pull up on ribbon cable slot in order to release pressure from the ribbon cable. Pull from the sides of the ribbon cable slot. Then the cable can be removed. You will then remove the 4 screws holding the PCB to the control panel and release the 2 hinges holding the board in place. Put PCB back together on new control assymbly. Plug in new ribbon cable, communication cables, and power cable back into the PCB. Put rest of microwave back together and test out. All went well with mine thank goodness. I am a technician at trade so it was easy for me to know how and what to do.

Microwave beeping, display says keyboard shorted. Does this mean the control panel needs to be replaced or could it be something else?
For model number JVM1540SN1SS

Hello Ana, thank you for your question. If the unit is saying keyboard shorted you would have to replace the touch buttons. The touch buttons are a part of the Control Panel - Black/Stainless Part Number WB56X10826. The whole control panel would have to be replaced which would include the touch buttons. I hope this helps!

Control panel has no power.

Hi William, Thank you for your question. If the control panel is not responding, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the line fuse, the secondary door switch, the control panel and the smart board. Check the connections between the smart board and the control panel as well. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
