Could this part cause the interior fan and light not to turn off when the door is closed but the oven is cool? When the door is open the fan shuts off but when the door is closed the interior fan turns on and the interior light stays on.

Hello Leo, thank you for your inquiry. The part that you are referring to is the magnetron thermostat. It cuts off the outside electric power for the microwave oven when the peripheral temperature of the magnetron or the temperature of the exhaust air coming out of the heating cavity is higher than a predetermined allowable temperature. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend replacing the door switch, part number PS10057151. A faulty door switch can cause the microwave to keep lights on and fan running when the door closes. We hope this information helps!
