My oven is giving an F45 error code that indicates the cooling fan speed is too low. I have checked the fan blades for obstructions and confirmed the tachometer harness is connected on fan and on oven control. Is there a way to check the resistance of the fan before I order this part so that I can determine if it is the cooling fan or the oven control that needs replaced?
For model number 10462038A
Hello Cameron, thank you for contacting us. First, it is best to physically check the fan. If it feels restricted and does not spin freely, then the bearings have failed and the motor will need to be replaced. You can also test the motor with a multimeter. Touch the probes to each motor terminal. If the motor is good, you will see a reading of around 20 to 90 ohms. Now if the resistance is far outside of that range, or if there is no resistance and no continuity, the motor will need to be replaced. We suggest checking the convection fan blade, part number PS3409337, and the convection motor, part number PS12364088. If this does not solve your problem, you may need to replace the control board, part number PS12712230. We hope this is helpful!
