Where is the micro switch located and how do you replace it?
Hi Kenneth, Thank you for the question. This switch is inside the dispenser. You will need to pry the dispenser from the door using a thing putty knife or a small flat head screw driver. The dispenser will pop out. One the back of the dispenser housing you will see the switch. The switch is held to the housing by one screw and the wires. You will need to disconnect the wires and then remove the screw. Then reverse the steps to install the new switch. Always remember to unplug the appliance before starting the repair. Hope this Helps!

My water dispenser continues to run sometimes even after I remove the glass and the lever is up. The ice dispenser works fine .
For model number FGUS2632LE2
Hi Albert, Thank you for the question. This can be caused by two parts. You will need to test the Micro Switch,PartSelect Number: PS1532720.This part aids in the dispensing of ice or water, and the Water Inlet Valve,PartSelect Number: PS7784018. The valve has 2 sides, one for the water dispenser and one for the ice maker. If the dispenser side is stuck open and not closing properly it can cause the issue you are having. Hope this helps!

My ice maker does not immediately engage. I sometimes have to wait 5 to 10 seconds before it starts to work. What could be the cause?

Having trouble with water dispenser and ice machine. Water lever is engaged and I can hear the valve make noise. Also the filter has been replaced and is not filled with water like it should be. Any help is appreciated
For model number GLHS69EJPB2
Hello Sean, Thank you for the question. If the issue started after the new filter was installed, you may have a defective filter or a damaged Filter Base PartSelect Number: PS976499. Also you can check to make sure the water is turned on going to the appliance if it was turned off to replace the filter. If you have the issue before and after the filter, it might be a defective Water Inlet Valve PartSelect Number: PS7784018 not releasing the water. Hope this helps!

Ice dispenser will not shot off, spews ice non-stop until board is unplugged. Is the micro switch the most likely problem?
For model number 253.52332200
Hi Marv, that is a possible problem, I would read our guide here: https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Not-Dispensing-Ice/. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
Hi Sam,
Thank you for your question. The micro switch is just inside the cover of the ice maker with the other control components. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Can you tell me where the voltage comes from for the water valve for the ice maker? I am assuming the it should be 115 vac but i am only getting like 22.4. It has got me stumped and i would appreciate any information you might have. Thanks!
For model number FRT18IL6DBN
Hi Sam,
Thank you for your question. Locate your icemaker's water inlet valve, it is typically located behind a refrigerator. Gently pull your refrigerator away from the wall. You may want to place scraps of carpet, of some other soft material below the fridge to prevent damage to the floor. Turn of the water valve's water supply by closing the shut-off valve in the waterline leading to the water valve. Remove the lower access panel on the back of the refrigerator using a screwdriver or a nut driver.
Place a container under the valve to catch any water that may spill from the water valve and its fill tube. Remove the water valve's fill tubing. Loosen the flare nut on the brass fitting that is found on the inlet side of the water valve. You can use a wrench to loosen the flare nut.
Your water inlet valve is held in place on your refrigerator by means of a metal bracket. Use a screwdriver or a nutdriver to remove the screw that holds the water valve's bracket to the refrigerator cabinet. Gently pull the water valve out of the cabinet, and remove the tube from the outlet port.
There are two wires connecting to the terminals of your water inlet valve. If yours is a double solenoid water valve, it will have four wires. Be sure to label each wire so that you know where to reconnect them later. Firmly grasp the metal connector of the wires in order to remove the wires. You may need to use a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Do not pull on the wires themselves.
Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve.
If the test you conduct with your icemaker water inlet valve does not produce these results, then you should replace the component. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The water continues to dispense water after the water dispenser level is deactivated. Will the changing of the micro switch fix the problem?
For model number FRS6LR5EB6
Hi Spencer,
Thank you for your question. If the dispenser is continuing to dispense water from the refrigerator the micro switch is one part you will need to check. I would also check to see if there is an issue with the water inlet valve, the water dispenser actuator and the water filter. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice maker runs through all the motions but the water does not run to fill the ice try. We have replace the water inlet valve part# 242252603. It still will not fill with water. Any suggestions?
For model number FRT21IL6JW0
Hi Karissa, Thank you for the question. If the valve did not fix the issue, I suggest checking the water lines to make sure they are not frozen or blocked. If the lines to the ice maker are clear, you may need to replace the Ice Maker, PartSelect Number PS10057209. Hope this helps!

Micro switch for Frigidaire
Part was easy to order and received in a timely manner. I haven't had a chance to replace yet. Only downside is that I found part at Sears parts online for $13.87. Which I paid $43.87 plus shipping from parts select.
