The knob allows users to regulate the amount of gas that flows to the burner and generates the heat needed for cooking. Over time, the outer coating on the knob might become deformed due to heat exposure, or the knob itself may become damaged or loose. The Whirlpool stovetop I have has plastic control knobs. Are there compatible stainless-steel knobs that will work? I want to replace all 5 knobs since they become damaged from using large skillets and griddle plates. The heat that flows out from under the griddle warps the knobs and causes the chrome to bubble.

Is this stove-top knob chrome? The last one I ordered, they sent me a brushed nickel. Not what I want. I want chrome to match the other knobs.
