The Dryer stopped working.
I removed the top of the dryer. 2 screws hold it on. The Main Board is right there above the drum. I had power and when I pressed [START] the dryer beeped 3 times and did not stop.
When I took off the top there was a troubleshooting guide that had explained how to get into the diagnostic mode. The error I got was E Hd.
Of all of the dozens of listed error codes that are listed, my code wasn't on there. I called Frigidaire and they said the code was pointing at a defective Main Board. 3 beeps tell you the door is open but there is an error code for that problem.
I ordered the Main Board and the Board Assy which is the board behind the buttons with all the buttons and LEDs.
After removing the power, I removed the 2 screws that hold the plastic case which holds the Main Board. I removed all of the electrical connectors and removed the board. Installing the new board was just a reverse of the procedure. I installed the top, restored power, and Voila, the dryer is fixed! My wife now thinks I walk among the Gods!
The Service Document under the top cover was extremely helpful.
Nothing in the document that the consumer gets mentions this little nugget of gold hiding in the machine. It seems that the Diagnostic Check could be extremely helpful even if you were going to call a repairman - "Yes I am getting Error Code Exx, the overtemperature fuse is blown". The repairman would know to come with at least the fuse and the repair could be very quick. Just my opinion, of course.
