What is the white plastic part that fits around the pump motor called? It has the one outlet from washer to the outlet that goes to drain hose? Mine is cracked and i don’t need the motor, i just need that part. Thank you.
For model number NFW7200TW

Hello Teresa, Thank you for the question. This would be the pump housing and it is only sold as part of the drain pump. Hope this helps!

Won't drain completely and door stays locked. Main board has been replaced. Pump and filter are clean and pump works. Is there a sensor that tells the pump to drain?
For model number WFW8740DW1

Hi Sherry, I would take a look at the water level switch. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Drain pump was cracked
Turned washer on its side. Pulled the bottom plate off. Then unplugged the electrical lines. Then unbolted the drain pump and bolted the new drain pump in. Then reversed the process.

Washer would not drain.
Cleaned all hoses and filter with no success in the washer draining. So ordered drain pump and removed four bolts and the drain hose and the pump was off. Reversed the process with new pump and it’s good as new.

Code E01 F09. Was not draining properly.
I hit spin and drain cycle. Disconnect the power cord from the wall. Remove the back cover. Stuck a bowl under the filter/ strainer. Unscrewed the filter/strainer let the rest of the water drain. Disconnect the pump /drain hose. Disconnect the wire harness from pump and removed the pump bolts. Replaced the pump reassembled.

Drain pump needed replacement
After finding the correct part, I watched a video Parts Select had posted showing how to replace it. Things went smoothly. Took my time and was careful and now the washing machine is running just fine again. Neede a 5'16" hex wrench and I used a drill with hex attached to remove the back of the washing machine. Went smoothly. Watch the video!

Washer won’t drain
Took sometime to figure out the problem. A little difficult to replace part partly due to the drain pump with filter’s location in the washer. Mine is on its lower right rear. It’s reachable and yet difficult. Good luck!

Washing Machine Failed to Drain...
My washer started flashing the code E1-F9 one day mid-cycle and locked the clothes inside. Google suggested this could be a pump filter issue and I tried at first to clean out the filter as suggested. (on this model, you have to take the back off to reach the filter.) This didn't solve the problem, but since I could now clearly see how it pumped, I noticed nothing was pumping out through the hose and bought the pump part.
This is an easier job if you can tip the entire washer on its side and haven't set it up as a stacked unit (which I had). Disconnect all power sources first and the outflow hose. Two of the four bolts that need to come off are in the front and all of them needed a drill's power to pull them out. For at least three of the bolts I'd recommend an extension on the drill bit, but I didn't have room for this since I tipped the entire stacked unit on its side.
After that, I was done in less than 10 minutes and the bolts drilled in formed the seal so it didn't leak. It worked and it's pumping.
But! This model seems to have a lot of other issues. Mine will only work on Heavy load without flashing other error codes, and it never washes in the fabric softener... that just sits there.

Washer was stuck, door wouldn't open, start or shut off!
We turned the washer on its side, took off the bottom, and replaced the pump. Washer still would not work, so we called the company, to find the restart, after 30 minutes on the phone and still no answer, we wiggled the wiring, the restart was on the top, rear, left side of the washer, a small ground, we unplugged it, and then replugged it, it started right up, and no problem, washer has worked great since!

So easy
I appreciate the support your site provides. I was a little intimidated at the thought of repairing my own washing machine but the comments and pictures that other customers was very helpful. I installed the pump and my machine is working!! Took me about 30 min in all. Thanks for having such a comprehensive site-you supply the part, at great price and the support to make it happen!!

Good

Pump works good
The pump was delivered with the housing broken. I took the pump out of the new housing and had to use the old housing. The pump itself works good without leaks.

Washing machine drain pump easy install
The drain pump on our front loading Whirlpool washer stopped working. The correct part arrived and I was able to replace it myself with help from the video. Minor detail: the plastic piece that holds the electrical socket was broken in transit. Not a big issue as I was able to solve that with a cable tie. The pump itself (the most important part) works fine. Caught up with the laundry!

The pump we ordered by the model number was a perfect fit.

Keith D - November 27, 2018

smooth repair and the part worked great
I was initially weary of getting the correct part but figured I would take the chance without a picture because the previous reviews were good. I was pleasantly surprised the part was exactly the same as original. Changing the part was pretty quick and we were ready to wash minutes later. I would definitely go to partselect again and I also recommend them as well. I would have given 5 stars, but with no picture, I couldn't.

Right part, quick repair
Was nervous, since there were no images of the part, that I would get the wrong part....Part was correct, arrived within a week, had my washer up and running in no time. Since this part worked so well, I just order a maintenance kit for my dryer....coming tomorrow, hopefully it is a correct part as well.
