Replace worn washer belt
Remove old belt, rotate large washer belt wheel, guiding belt off large wheel. Guide new belt onto Washer Large Wheel. Use a pair of pliers to hold belt onto wheel as one turns the large washer belt wheel, guiding belt onto wheel. Note belt will be tight. Seems like belt will not fix but keep going it will fit, you might even hear it
... Read more pop on. Old Part number (W10116215) new replacement Part number (W10388418). New replacement washer belt fits tight, that is ok.

I have a Maytag front loader with a broken belt p/t number w10116215 and i purchased the new belt. The new belt is shorter than the original. I followed videos on how to install it but it seems to short. I started on the pulley first and then placed the belt around the big pulley and about half way around the belt was really tight. I thought the motor had a adjustment but it looks like it is a fixed motor. What is the secret here to get the belt properly installed?
Hi Ron,
Thank you for your question. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to install the belt. The washing machine in the video may not show exactly like the one you have, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. You will find the video under part number PS2005284. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
