Easy repair, timer not engaging.
Though a bit expensive for a 'timer', I am sure this quick easy repair job saved me hundreds more. I had to hold the start button while turning the timer to a 'sweet spot' to get dryer to start. Now I can set the timer and then just hit the start button. Took about 10 mins top to make the repair. I give 5 stars, but still think part is too expensive.

Timer on the dryer quit working.
I pulled out the dryer far enough to remove the back access panel. I detached the existing timer and let it hang. My dryer required only a 1/4" nut driver for the screws. I installed the new timer and then moved one wire at a time from the old timer to the new one. A pair of pliers can be helpful to assist with pulling the wires off t

Timer
The timer on the dryer wasn't allowing the machine to start and I knew it had to be replaced. I removed the back panel to access the timer. Next I removed each wire and placed the wire in the correct place. Finally, it worked.

Broken timer switch
First, I made sure the unit was unpluged, then I removed the rear panel to the dryer. I Then removed the 2 screws securing the switch and pulled it out. I then carefully removed 1 wire at a time in order to replace them on the correct terminal. After re-installling the switch, I replaced the cover, pluged it back in and fired it up. N

my dryer would heat for 5 minutes and then stop heating i would let the dryer cool down and then it would start to heat again
Removed the front panel and took the drum out so that I could easily dry at the coils. I replaced those and hooked everthing back up.

Dryer stopped hearing last night. No glow from the ignighter at all and i noticed that the timer is not advancing, it just stays wherever it is set. Is the time bad or is there another part stopping the timer from advancing and allowing the heat to start? Thanks
For model number SGDS800JQ0
Hi Steve, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the igniter with a multi meter first and if it tests good, you may need a new timer. Hope this helps!
