Is it possible as a (diy) to replace part #7724p200-60 (black paint flaking off in and around 8 horizontal vent openings and along the entire part) or is a touch-up spray paint or brush paint available to address this cosmetic flaw in this $3000.00 slide-in gas downdraft range with convection? Jenn-Air customer service offered some "kinda like it might work" advice re brush paint not black. Please advise. Thanks, Jerry ( bought 1/26/2015 new).

Hi Jerry, Thank you for the question. There was probably a defective or small chip in the paint and the heat over time caused it to flake off. If you use a touch up paint, it will more then likely happen again. I would suggest replacing the part with a new one. The part is held in place by 4 screws along the bottom and previous customers have said it was a fairly easy repair. Hope this helps!
