Heater and Defrost Thermostat - 220V Specifications

The heater is located beneath the coils that is located behind the panel in the freezer section. The heater will get hot and melt any ice or frost build up around the coils. The thermostat will sense the temperature increase in the evaporator during the defrost cycle and will cycle the defrost heater off after the ice or frost is melted.

There is a copper tube wrapped around the defroster element, whose ends go into the evaporator drain tube opening. I don't see this on the parts diagram. I assume it is to ensure that water from the defroster doesn't freeze again before exiting the evaporator assembly. Can you identify this part - mine is broken. It may even be a small capillary tube of some sort.

Hi Jason, Thank you for your question. It sounds like you will need to replace your evaporator assembly. The cooper tubing that you are talking about does not come separately from it. Good luck with your repair.
