Trying to determine which part i need. The symptom are that i can no longer move the slide control that controls the temperature (mechanical issue). The food in the refrigerator keeps freezing. Do i need to replace the defrost time, the temp control, or is it just a mechanical issue with the slide switch. Not sure how the slide switch adjusts the temperature. Haven't not pulled the assembly out to examine inside. Thinking that may be the next step. Thoughts?

The freezer box is progressively getting warmer. Is it the temp control thermostat or something else.? if it is the thermostat, how do you replace it?
For model number mtb1956bew
Hello Ken, thank you for your question. The first step we would recommend taking is to remove the back panel in the freezer and be sure there is no ice buildup on the freezer coils, and that the evaporator fan motor is working. If the freezer is getting warmer, there could be an issue with the thermostat, compressor relay and overload, or condenser fan motor. If the back of the freezer wall is free of ice, and the evap fan motor is working, and the compressor isn't coming on more often than it usually does, we would recommend replacing the temperature control. Unfortunately, we do not have any installation videos for this particular part but you may find something online. I hope this helps!
