Disconnect ... Read more heater connections. (1) wire on each end of heater. Disconnected (2) wires that connect defrost t-stat. Removed (2) metal clips that hold defrost heater shield and defrost heater to coil..
pulled t-stat off of refrigerant line on right end and replaced with new. (It is only a little spring clip that is part of the t-stat) Replaced defrost heater. Reversed un-install procedure for metal clips and wiring. Gently plug wires in (do not pull on wires) Put rear panel back in place, put in the 4 screws , hand tighten only (just to snug) gently push on panel to make sure it is back as far as it will go..check screw tension again. Put plastic plug back in drain hole or re-install ice maker. Plug the refrigerator back in. This should not take you more than 30 min. max. I do not have an ice maker so it only took me 15 min.
