This element is strung with a coiled wire made of a nickel and a chrome alloy. This wire receives, but resists, a controlled electric current and as a result, the wire heats up. The heat produced is used to dry the clothes in your dryer.

What are some reason an heating element on my kitchen aid dryer stop working? This is the second time it has stopped working in three years, because I'm trying to decide whether to replace the part of just buy a knew dryer.
For model number KEYS850GQ0
Hi Valentino, thank you for reaching out. If you suspect that the heating element, part number PS11741631, is malfunctioning, first check for a blown thermal fuse, part number PS11741454 on the blower housing, before replacing the heating element. In most cases, the heating element will have a break-in element if it is defective, which may need a wire connector, part number PS334206, to be installed. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
