Dryer would not always start when the timer was set
Unscrewed the back panel
Unscrewed the old timer from the dryer
Moved the wires, one by one, from the old timer to the new PartSelect timer. All wires use slip-on connectors.
Screwed the new timer into the dryer
Screwed the back panel back on

Front panel timer knob malfunctioned.
Removed five rear cover screws, removed two timer mounting screws, and then replaced the clip-on timer wires one-at-a-time. Re-mounted the new timer and replaced the rear cover. The new part from PartSelect.com was an exact replacement that works perfectly. It was for a 15-year-old dryer that Whirlpool did not even list on their own parts replacement website. PartsSelect.com saved me from having to purchase a new appliance.
