If this switch is bad will it create a no heat problem? The dryer does not get hot, I checked the main breaker, and put a multimeter on the heating element and all the thermostats inside and everything checked out normal. This is the last thing left. Have you heard of this before?
For model number GTD42EASJ2WW
Hello Greg, Thank you for the question. This switch should not cause no heat at all. If all four Thermostats and the Element tested good, you may have a defective Timer. The Timer switch sends electricity to the element to turn it on during the cycles. We hope this helps!
I replaced a broken belt and now the dryer will not stay on when start switch is released. If start button held down, dryer will run, heat, and stop when cycle is complete. You-tube mentioned a bad belt relay switch as a possible cause for this. However, the parts store told me this model does not have that part. Does this model have a switch like that? If not, what could the problem be?

Hello Lisa, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and do not show a belt relay switch for this model. It could be an issue with the drive motor or with the wiring. Check the wiring harness for any visible damage. You can test the motor with a multimeter to see if it has continuity. Good luck with your repair.
What would cause my dryer to not heat and not shut off
For model number GTD42EASJ2WW
Hello Todd, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the cycling thermostat, part number PS11772030. It monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer. We would recommend replacing it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
