Hello Frank, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend replacing the thermostat, part number PS1018863, to fix the issue. It turns the heat on and off to maintain the temperature you set. We hope this solves your problem!

I cannot figure out how to remove the old thermostat control from the control panel. If I remove the knob there are no screws that hold the switch in place. If I remove the panel from the back I can see no way to remove the switch. So, I now have the correct part for the warmer drawer, but cannot figure out how to remove the old part. Can you help?

Hello AI, thank you for reaching out. Before going to the repair, safely unplug the oven. The first step is to remove the thermostat knob, using a string or wire to help pry it off. Next, remove the screws securing the upper back panel and pull the panel off. Remove the mounting screws to release the old oven thermostat assembly. Install the new oven thermostat assembly by positioning it in the control panel and securing it with the mounting screws; now transfer the wires from the old thermostat to the new one. Unclip the old sensing bulb and route it out of the cabinet and remove the old assembly. Route the new sensing bulb through the cabinet and snap it into position. Replace the back panel and secure the screws. Replace the thermostat knob. Finally, plug the appliance back in to make sure it is functioning properly. We hope this helps!

Is the thermostat only for controlling the temperature of the warming drawer? I'm having trouble with the temperature in the main oven even though i've replaced the temperature sensor (along with the convection motor and the motor capacitor.)

Hi Susy, Thank you for your question. Yes, this part is just for your drawer. If you set your temperature in your over with your control board then that would be the part giving you problems. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

What part do I need ? The large front right burner does not respond to the temperature knob thanks
For model number JB968SL5SS

Hi Harry, Thank you for the question. I recommend replacing the Infinite Control Switch. The control switch turns the surface element on and off and determines the temperature of the element. This will need to be changed if the control switch has failed and the cooktop is not turning on. Hope this helps!

My lower oven red light is staying on all the time. If you pull down on knob it will cut off and as soon as you let go it cuts back on. What is behind that panel. I think it’s say thermostat. I wanted to make sure before spent $100. Other than that my oven is working fine.

Hello Sherry, Thank you for the question. This woudl be an issue with the switch behind the knob. The switch you need would be the Part Number: PS1018863 Thermostat. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
