This part #350 in your assembly diagram,(GE part # wr17x11939) is the auger for the ice dispensing system. Your assemble drawing shows the end of the steel shaft (on #350)having a 90 degree bend where it attaches to the motor coupling #365. My damaged(plastic spirals broken) part #350 has the 90 degree bend at the end. The sketch of the part #350 does not show the 90 degree bend as illustrated in the assembly drawing(art # wr19377 c6). I cannot determine how will this part attach to the motor coupling

Hi David, Thank you for your question. You do not need to buy the complete ice bucket assembly if it is just the auger that is rusty and cracked. You may purchase the auger separately. The part number for it is PS1018130. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Plastic auger cracked. This part moves the ice in the bin forward to the dispenser
1) Removed the ice bin and emptied the ice.
2) Removed 5 screws total
3) (hardest part) JImmied a flat blade screwdriver into the left top side of the housing and pried gently to disengage the plastic holding clip. This only allows the left side of the housing to move up about a half-inch. Did the same on the right side and 'walked' the assembly out of the bin.
4) Removed the C clip and washer that holds the auger. and removed the auger assembly.
5) Before removing the screw at the end of the assembly, it is a good idea to take pictures of the ice crushing part of the assembly so that it goes back on correctly.
6) Removed the screw and carefully stacked the ice crush blades and washers.
7) Installed the ice crush blades on the new auger, re-installed the screw, washer and C clip.
8) Re-assembly is easy, you just need to set the end of the auger in the back of the ice bin and slowly re-install the housing portion.

Auger blade parts showed up in my iced tea
Dis-assembly only consisted of three screws, but for the not-so mechanically inclined, I would suggest taking a picture of the ice crusher blades before removing them from the auger shaft.

Replaced dispenser auger.
Read your instructions, which were very helpful, and followed them to install. It took a while for me to realize that the threaded cap at the end of the auger was a left-hand thread. Other than that, I had no problems.

plastic auger blade broke off
removed 4 screws in order to view and remove auger. removed metal and set washer on back of auger. This step not difficult. This will release auger from plastic ice resovoir. Again, not difficult. Remove plastic nut after removing auger. This procedure will release crushed ice blades and 5 plastic washers, 3 flat and 2 raised. You have got to remember order of blades and washer. Again draw diagram take pictures. Very, very important. Put back as taken apart. Good Luck

Ice in the door would no longer eject ice; Stuck
Problem: The hardened ice crushing blades had worn the shaft causing them to "lay over" and get stuck.

Remove the ice maker drawer. On the bottom remove two phillips screws to take off the front cover.

The interior white insert in the front has two tabs that hold it in place. Releasing this is the hardest part. I used a small straight screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry the sides away from the tabs so that it could be lifted out. This removes the whole ice ejector and auger shaft.

Lift out the shaft, leaving the crusher blades in order.

Slide the new auger shaft into the crusher blades, pop in the back part and reassemble!

Ice Maker Auger replacement: part # PS1018130
I agree with the other posts that suggested taking a picture of the blades and spacers before taking the auger out, makes it so much easier to put it back together in the same way. The only difficult part was holding the two tabs apart while removing the unit, you need a second person to help with this. I used two small screw-drivers to gently pry the clear plastic box away from the white plastic holder, while my helper pulled the holder loose. Keep in mind that the plastic nut that holds the auger in place is a left hand thread. Went back together very easy and it's working great.
