Handles Turned A Ugly Yellow
I just popped the upper and lower tail handle off, unscrewed the door handle, then I screwed in the new door handle and popped the upper and lower tail handle back on. Easy as pie because I was concerned since I am a female.

Handles had turned yellow.
Placed a used fridge from a friend into a condo I am selling. Thought it would be nice to include, but the yellow handles against the nice white body was UGLY. Found this great site, read reviews, and ordered the parts. Was very easy. Have to have a flathead screwdriver to carefully remove the Upper and Lower Tail pieces. You need an Allen wrench for the Door Handle screws. Its the one that is shaped like an L and has six sides. When putting on the new tail pieces slip the large end on first, it has a tongue that slips into the handle, then pop it in working to the thin end.

Handles had discolored
Simply used flat head screw driver to snap off the upper and lower tail handles, and a star head screw driver to remove the handle and replace them.
Saved about $125 in labor costs.

Needed to replace handles on fridge door
I just slid a flat head screwdriver under each handle piece (between the original white handles and chrome plate), and slightly twisted. The pieces popped right off. I did this to the top, and bottom pieces covering the handle on the door.
After that I used a star like screwdriver (not sure exactly of the size) to unscrew the piece holding the actual handle bar to the door.
From there I just reversed my order and put everything back together. Almost like Legos.
Really easy job.

Handles had yellowed excessively and looked terrible against the still-white refrigerate.
Popped off the tail handles at the top and bottom of each handle. The main handles were attached at the top and bottom with a star-head screw. I filed a flat-head screwdriver blade until I could fit it inside two slots of the star-head screw. Then I removed the screws, took off the old handles, put on the new handles, and put the screws back in. Then I popped the new tail handles back in and the refrigerator looks as good as new.

From Storage to Use
Item sat in a garage and needed to be thorougly cleaned of mold that grew in its 2 years off. I had to remove the doors to get them into my new house. The repairs went easy once I figured out how to put the doors back on. This website had excellent detailed schematic drawings. It was very easy to order the parts. I wanted to replace the handles on both doors beacause they didn't clean up at all. Once these handles are soiled, theyre impossioble to clean! So I replaced these parts, and it looks brand new. Thanks fo making everything so easy!

Hi, the refrigerator side door handle has come loose on my unit. I can't tell where it broke and whether the handle screw is still in the door. I am thinking that i should just purchase a replacement handle and the bottom trim piece since the trim is loose also. I noticed that if i purchase the handle, the screw doesn't come with it, but i am unable to find the screw. Can you please recommend how i can obtain a replacement screw in addition to the handle? Thank you. Mike

I need to replace the door handles on both the refrigerator and freezer sides. Which parts do i need? Also the ice maker works but the water does not - any ideas what to fix?
For model number TPX24PRDAWW

Hi Lynn, thank you for your question. This would be the part number for your handle: PS1017402. If you only need your handles then you should be able to reuse all of the other parts. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. Good luck with your repair.

Like many others, my door handles have turned yellow. I found one part named door handle on your list for $59.95. The “handle” runs from the top or the refrigerator all the way to the floor. Does the handle replacement part include only the handle or the pieces above and below the handle? If I need to order the pieces above and below the handle, please let me know the cost and part numbers for those. I’ll need 2 of each part because the freezer handle is the same as the refrigerator handle. Thank you!!
