Unit goes off completely when auto defrost door opens. The unit must be restored as if first pluged in clock etc.

It certainly sounds like it could be faulty door switches PS237421 and PS237422, you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary. It is recommended to replace both parts at the same time. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Unit will not go off on vent. Have to shut off breaker to stop unit. Changed switches unit still not working.
