Handle only. This door handle is for microwaves.
Because the inner door panel covers the screws that attach the door handle to the door, the door panels must be separated to access the screws and replace the handle.
A service technician should install this door part because the door contains shielding components. The technician must correctly test the microwave for leaks in the microwave shield before you can safely use the microwave.

Easier than I thought!
I got the part the day after I ordered and then watched a video of how to replace a door handle. It took approximately 30 minutes to replace.

Replaced microwave door handle.
I ordered the wrong part at first, but it cost a lot less than the actual part I needed. Pretty much the same microwave handle, only it was too long and didn't fit. The second one I ordered was the correct part, much shorter and fit perfectly; however, it cost $40 more than the first one, was a lot shorter too! Looks like it's made out of the same material too, so I don't understand why the price difference for a shorter handle made out of the same material and for the same type of appliance!

The little piece of white plastic that holds the bottom screw of the handle broke.
The way I was instructed . I took the narrow black panel off from inside the door with a putty knife . and the screws were there to unscrew the old handle, took top and bottom screws out, then put in new handle and screwed that on. then snapped the black panel in place. All done.

I have to put on a new microwave door handle but don't know how to disassemble the door to put a new door handle on.
For model number JVM1540DM5WW
Hi Linda,
Thank you for your question. To take apart your door, you would use a putty knife to gently pop the back cover from the front panel of your door. It is held in with little tabs that go all around the perimeter of your door. Once you have that back cover off, you should be able to see your screws. If you do not see your screws right away, you would just have to gently pop off your choke the same way you popped off your cover. Good luck with your repair.

What is the distance from center to center on mounting holes?
Hi Patrick, thank you for your question. Unfortunately the manufacturer has not provided exact specifications for this part. However we do have the part photographed on a 1 inch grid background. It looks like approximately it is 11.5". Good luck with your repair.

Is there a Generic replacement part for handle $65.00 for the handle seem a bit much. I’d hate to replace whole unit just to replace a handle i think i can replace unit for about twice that. It’s 12 years old.
For model number GE jvm1540dm1ww
Hello Dennis, thank you for your question. There is really no such thing as "generic parts" for appliances. The only replacement handle that will work with your appliance is the Door Handle - White WB15X24436. They are specific to each appliance. I hope this information helps!

Does the handle for this model .
Parts #PS10065138 come with the screws? If not can you direct me to the link or tell me size needed, please?
For model number JVM1540DM5WW
Hi Beverly, thank you for your inquiry. The door handle for your model does not come with the screws. You may need to order the hardware bag, part number PS12709821. It contains the screws used to assemble the cabinet panels and internal parts of the microwave. We hope that helps!
