Ice maker was not making ice
Unplugged the old ice maker. Removed the two screws that held it in. Removed the old ice maker and replaced it with the new one. Put back the two screws, plugged it back in and turned on the power switch. It started making and dropping ice in the first 1/2 hour.

Instructions did not cover all the parts in kit. The instructions did not cover the elbow in the back of the refg. or the filler tube. I was doing a replacment & it not address that.
I was doing a replacement so it was just a matter of removing old parts and replacingn them with new ones.

Unit Changed Out Without Any Difficulty
I disconnected the ice maker by backing out the two mounting screws and lifted the ice maker out of the freezer after unplugging the unit. The new unit was placed with a plug-in adapter and mounted on the original mounting screws. The intake water adapter was snapped into place and ice was available in approximately 2-3 hours.

Replaced Two Icemakers
We replaced two old icemakers with two new for less than a local repair company wanted to charge us for ONE. Very easy to install, hardest part was cleaning under both refrigerators!
Thanks!

Bought with no icemaker
By following the instructions in the manual that went with it, I used the parts in the order that the instructions said. The illustrations were very easy and now we dont have to use ice cube trays any longer. Any person without experience that can follow directions can put in an icemaker with the simple to follow instructions that was used in the manual.

Old ice maker leaked
Unplugged the old ice maker, removed the two screws holding it in place and removed from freezer. Found the correct adapter cord that fit the plugin in my freezer. Started the two screws will hold the icemaker and then hang the icemaker and plug it in and finish tightning the screws.

To install the supply valve for the ice maker, I moved the frig away from the wall, loosened the two screws holding the water valve and supply line, unplugged the valve, cut off the water supply,

No ice
Ice maker not working. Received my order in 30 hours. (Excellent) After installing ice maker and water valve, I noticed that where the water enters through the freezer to the ice maker spout, there was a frozen spot in the connector. After melting the ice blockage with a hair dryer, the ice maker and water valve began working. No problem since. Unit working perfectly.

Factory ice maker was running water out of the fridge onto the floor.
My wife and I decided to tackle this job on a Saturday. The fridge was due for a good cleaning anyway. We pulled it out and shut off the water to the ice maker.
I took out the old ice maker, (two screws and the plug) Then went to the back of the fridge. removed the cardboard cover at the bottom of the frigdge and took the mounting screw out of the water valve. I had a double valve for the no longer working in-door water so I made sure to identify Then installed the new water valve. Note: be sure to check your connections for leaks before mounting the water valve - it is easier to see and fix them !!!! You can leave the water on at this point because the icemaker and water valve will not operate until the icemaker is plugged in. Next choose the right water fill cup, and install the ice maker to the existing screw mounts and plug in the connector. Note: be sure the ice maker is turned off. Start the fridge, let it get cold, then turn on the icemaker.
Overall this is a great multi install package - Don't worry about extra parts because you will have some. If we would have just needed to do the icemaker and not clean the fridge, I could have done it in about an hour.
Overall I would highly recommend this package vs what is available at other retailers for more money. Best Buy has a bargain replacement icemaker but does not have the versatility and completeness of this product. I give this product 5 stars.... dm

Icemaker was leaking forming huge gobs of ive
I removed the bin and dumped out all the ice then I took out the two screws holding the icemaker to the freezer wall. I then unplugged the icemaker. Since all of the funnels etc were in place I simply plugged in the new icemaker, installed the two mounting screws, slipped the icemaker in place tightened the screws and turned it on.I'm happy to say the new unit is much faster than theold one. By morning I had a full bin of cubes. Thanks so much for your help.

The on - off lever stopped working. The ice maker stopped producing ice at the same time. The lever moves freely as though it does not engage to turn on to produce ice. It is the same when put to the off position. What could it be?
For model number IM4A

Hi John, Thank you for your question. It sounds like the mechanism in your ice maker that controls your shut off arm has broken. You may have to replace your entire ice maker to fix this issue. Good luck with your repair.

The hose freezes
For model number gth21kbxacc
PartSelect logo
Hi Odell, Thank you for your question. If the hose is freezing, it is likely caused by ice backing up in the bin, or a refrigerator thermostat that is set too low. You can try defrosting the refrigerator or you can use a hair dryer on a low heat setting to try and defrost the hose. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
