Does the fuel tank need to be removed to replace the priming bulb ?
For model number P231
Hi Bruce, thank you for contacting us. We have found that the purge bulb, part number PS8858167, is secured to the bottom of the carburetor with a metal plate. You do not need to remove the fuel tank to replace this. We have found some relevant instructions for you to replace the primer bulb. These may not be of the exact same model, but will help you with the process. You may follow the following steps: remove the air cleaner cover, then remove the screws that hold the carburetor on the motor. Next, remove the four screws from the primer pump housing. Take the housing place off and remove the bulb and place the new bulb into the housing and replace the screws that attach the housing to the carburetor. Mount the carburetor back onto the motor and replace the air filter cover. We hope this information helps!
