None of my 5 burner igniters are working. All went out at the same time. Do i need to replace each igniter or is there a main igniter that needs replacing?
For model number JGP963CEC2CC
Hi Jan,
Thank you for your question. If the surface burners are not igniting, there are a couple of things that you will need to check. First check and see if the burner caps are aligned correctly. If they are not aligned correctly, you will need to re-position them. If you have recently cleaned the cooktop or if there has been excess moisture on the cooktop caused from either cooking or spills, remove the burner caps and allow the burners to dry out before using them again. You may also use a cloth to wipe up the excess moisture. If there is food debris in the burners, they will need to be cleaned, so they can work properly. If you have done all this and the burners will still not light, you may need to replace either the spark module, the spark ignition switch or the spark igniter. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!
I removed the old igniter by working a thin screwdriver under the edge of the igniter, and carefully prying it up. I then used pliers to pull off the electrical wire. Connected up the new igniter, and pushed it back into the hole. A very simple repair.
I've replaced 2 igniters on this stove. My symptoms were that when I tried

A rubber grate foot on my range top had worn out. I pulled the worn foot out and installed the new grate foot with no tools or accessories. Good as new! Now I don't have to worry about the grate scraping my range top and scratching the paint. I also ordered extras so I won't have to wait if another wears out.
Pulled the old one out. Disconnected the wire. Repaired the frayed wire cover with Liquid Tape. Connected the wire. Inserted the new part into the hole. This is after installing a new spark module earlier. But that was dumb easy too. So for about $100 bucks in parts and an hour of my time I saved myself the appliance repairman money and
