do i need to remove end caps in order to change door switch ap6008561.
I tried using a puty knife to release the springs. does not work for me. the lint filter is in front of the door.

Hi Harold, thank you for getting in touch. You will not need to remove the end caps to replace the door switch. We have included a video to help you to replace the door switch. The dryer in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea of how to install the part. We hope this helps with the repair.

Received your parts, Popped them both right into place, Even though only one side needed to be replaced, I wanted them to match up. It was amazing how easy this was. My husband was quite impressed I had ordered these rather then look for either a new or used dryer from some other source.
Pryed dryer top open and opened front door. . Unscrewed the 2 retaining screws. Pulled old switch from the wiring harness. Put new switch in place and replaced the retaining screws.
