Knob broke off after years of use.
First I located the air conditioner on the internet. The model number came right up. It gave me all the diagrams and electrical schematics. Found the parts I needed and ordered them on line.

The knob came in two days the switch came more than a week later.

i pulled the face cover off. Removed 4 screws from the face plate to gain access to the switch. removed the wires and recorded on paper the colors that needed to be reattached to the new switch. attached the new switch, replaced the face plate. Slid the air conditioner back into the kowling. Put the face cover back and turned on some very cool air.
