Heating Element Brass Nut

The heating element nut is used to connect the heating element to the dishwasher tub. If water is leaking from underneath your dishwasher, you may need to tighten or replace the heating element nut. Replacing the nut is an easy job, does not require any specialty tools, and should not take you more than 10 minutes. For our step by step guide, click the video below. The brass nut measures 7 inches in length x 1 inch in width x 5 inches in height, and fits most dishwashers. Upper Dishrack Roller and Axle Kit

The upper dishrack roller and axel kit comes with two pieces, a wheel and an axle. This kit is made for your dishwasher. Both pieces measure to be roughly one square inch each, they are made entirely of plastic, and are white in color. The purpose of these parts is to allow your dishrack to roll easily on the support rails. This kit is sold individually and contains only one wheel and one axle. Please order the required quantity for your repair. If your dishrack is having trouble rolling in and out you may need replace your rollers and axles.

I looked under and found that 2 brass nuts that secured the heater element through the base housing of the dishwasher has split down each side of the nut and no longer was tight enough to keep water from leaking around either end of the heater element. First I noticed that the old gasket had disintergrated along the bottom. Next I removed the the gasket being careful to observe how it was installed. There are these notched areas of the gasket that belong in the lower corners. I think the notches are designed to help hold the gasket in place and make the gasket bend around the corner.
