Exhaust fan has a whistle sound when it’s on. Possible lubricant leak
For model number DKE9605PUC
Hi Gerald, thank you for getting in touch. The sound could be due to a faulty motor bearings. To determine if the motor bearings are worn out, try wiggling the motor shaft back and forth. The motor shaft should not move at all. If the motor shaft moves even by a slight amount, the motor bearings are worn out. Some older, larger motors have oil spouts. If your motor has oil spouts, try adding oil to the motor bearings to get the fan to turn freely. If lubricating the motor bearings does not solve the problem, or if the motor can not be lubricated, replace the exhaust fan motor, part number PS11705328. We hope this sorts out your problem!
