Ice Maker stopped making ice
First, I removed the ice bucket. Then I removed the two top left screws and bottom screw with a 1/4 inch nutdriver. I pulled the assembly out as far as the wiring harness would allow, disconnected the harness on the lower left side, and removed the unit. I removed the old motor cover and ice stop wire and placed them on the new unit. I then reversed the process. It went so fast that the freezer must have still been close to zero degrees because it filled with water within 15 minutes.

Water filled up ice receptacle and froze in a solid block.
Unplug fridge, close off water supply valve. Remove two screws attaching assembly to freezer wall, detach wiring harness. Remove parts from old assembly: wiring harness, shut-off rod, harness clamp and attach to new assembly. Connect wiring harness, two screws attach new assembly to freezer wall. Plug in fridge and open water supply valve (after an opportunity to change in-line filter). Works now!

Coating on Ice tray was peeling off
First, unplug power to Fridge, then remove ice bin and set to one side, then remove the clip that holds the fill tube down by pulling up on it, and remove the fill tube. Remove the two top screws on ice maker assembly first, as the bottom screw will support unit. Then remove the single bottom screw. Rotate the Ice Maker slightly down and this will expose the electrical connector. With a short, small, flat head screwdriver in your left hand, depress the locking tab for the connector, while your right hand supports the assembly and pulls the connector outward to disconnect. Remove old Ice Maker, and remove the bin full lift wire, it's a slide in fit and install in your new unit. Check your fill tube water diverter on the right side of Ice Maker unit , you may need to remove the blank, it is U shaped and molded for easy removal, but use caution when removing to be on the safe side, this allows the fill tube to go down into the diverter, Re-Assemble in reverse order. Give the unit plenty of time to reach proper operating temp, and cycle. Make sure and discard your first Ice cycle.

Icemaker ceased operation
Removed icemaker by first removing the nutscrew that holds the cover to the electrical connection in place. Next, I removed the door then slid the icemaker out and diconnected the electrical connector. With the icemaker out, I R&R'ed the motor assy , reconnected the electrical, and slid the icemaker back in place. Next, I replaced the door, turned the icemaker switch on and waited. In about 30 minutes I heard the water being injected into the icemaker, and soon there was ice. The repair was easy and inexpensive. Tx to Partselect which I found on Google.

Gasket on freezer door had deteriorated.
This is a bottom drawer freezer/refrigerator. Removed the drawer face from the drawer assembly. Removed screws that secure the inside of the drawer and removed the old gasket. Discovered that some fibreglass insulation inside the door was wet and icy from condensation that had gathered over time. Removed the insulation and dried it. This took some time as the ice was slow to melt. Once dry, I replaced the insulation, installed the new gasket and reassembled the door and reinstalled it on the door assembly. Used a hair dryer to warm the new gasket so that it would take proper shape as it had deformed slightly in its packaging . Was tipped off to this approach in the instructions that came with the new gasket. Laa in all the repais was successful.

ice maker wouldn't work
It took both me and my wife! One of the new parts we recieved was broke so we took the part off of the one that didn't work.

Unplug the fridge. Used the screw driver to remove the motor. Easy. Now putting the new one in was difficult because it has to line up exactly.
Thats what took 15 minutes but after me and my wife worked on it, we had a bucket of ice by morning!
We only knew how to do what we did because of reading these messages on this site. It came with no directions.

Would not produce Ice
I unpacked the motor and looked at how it was supposed to go in. I removed on screw in the right rear of the ice maker. Pushed a tab on the left of the ice maker. Removed the entire assembly and unhooked the electrical part of the ice make. unscrewed the three screws holding the motor in place and replaced the motor. Put everything in back together and in 15 minutes the familar sound of the ice maker could be heard.

water over flowing into ice bin
First i removed the three screws that held the assembly to the fridge, then removed the water flow tube from ice maker. 2- flipped ice maker over ,then used a small flathead to push in locking tab that held wire harness and out comes ice maker. All though the water cup was not quite the same i used the old ice maker to take apart to see how it was put together, hopeing there wasn't a myriad of parts. -NO INSTRUCTIONS- piece of cake, don't take out outside screws, take out the 2 inside screws-these srcews hold the guts to the water tray-pull apart and reassemble the unit after you have switched the cups. then reinstall into fridge with your outside cover and the full bin wire and your done. It helps to be alittle mechanicly inclined. -NO GUTS NO GLORY,DONT BE AFFRAID TO LOOK OUTSIDE THE BOX-

Icemaker not making ice
3 Years ago our icemaker stopped working and we paid a professional $225.00 to come and repair. This time I chose to investigate the problem on line and PartSelect website gave me info on the motor assembly that may be the problem. Sure enough I purchased the part, it was delivered in two days. My husband installed the control & motor assembly in less than 15 minutes. We had ice within hours. Thanks for saving us a service call and the expense. The Goldbergs
