Getting F 1 and 2 error codes and the oven turned itself off.
Really easy but in this model there are 2 versions of the sensor, male and female. The website didn't have any place to see that. So the first sensor that came was male but we needed the other. After calling they sent me a return form and sent the new part (which was actually much cheaper) overnight and it went in very quickly. Would check this out again when anything went wrong. they are great folks to work with.
This is a very easy repair as the sensor had 2 screws and slid out of the back of the inside of the oven just enough to hook up the new one. I never had to back the oven out of the wall. It is a 5 minute repair. Ok I did use my son's head lamp from scouts for better light as you have to kill the power to the oven, so no oven light. And you can't hold a flashlight and do this alone.
However, I ordered the part before I took the old part out. Don't do that. There are 2 froms of Temp sensors that you can order one male and one female. I did not know that and just ordered what looked to be the right part. It turned out that I needed the female sensor. When I called the folks at part select they were terrific! They sent out the new part the next day and a UPS form via email to send the other part back.
I don't know what a service call would have been but this was very easy. I will go here first for appliance parts. Women can fix stuff too!
1. Slide the Oven door out of its hinges after removing the screws - see Owner's manual. 2. Place door on floor with the inside face on the floor. 3. Remove screws on side and bottom of door and the lift away the side stamped pieces. 4. Remove screws as they becom visible and lift away the pieces till you reach the inside glass.
Remember the sequence and be careful not to strip the Phillips screws when unscrewing.
First, turn off power to oven. There are six Phillips head screws on the pan above the element and 2 securing the element to the pan. Remove all screws and pull unit toward you, then slide off electrical wires from the element. To remove the element from the pan use the pliers to bend back metal hooks. Place new element under hooks, bending the metal to hold element in place and replace 2 screws securing the element to the pan. Join wires to element and push unit with wiring back into oven wall. Replace 6 screws holding pan to top of oven, turn on power, and voila!
First I removed the screws that hold the element in place. Then I removed the screws that hold the element shield on the top of oven in place. I then pulled the element out of the back of the oven about 3-4 inches and disconnected the two wires. I removed the whole assembly shield and element. Then I disconnected the element from the shield little brackets hold it in place. Took new element and fixed in place on the shield with the brackets. At this point I replaced the two screws that hold the element to oven shield. Then I took the whole assembly and reconnected the two wires. Pushed the element back into the back of the oven. Lined up the screw holes of oven and broiler shield put screws back in. And done. I might add I turned the power off to the oven before working on it.
I took out ruined racks. Cleaned the oven, getting rid of all the melted plastic. Once oven was sparkling clean, I slid in the new racks I bought from here. (The easiest part).
* * * * I'm very thankful to have found this site. My oven has been "out of order" for over 3 years. It's so nice to be able to use it again! =)
Removed old assembly, attached wires to new and inserted into space for same. Of course you must turn off the range circuit breaker. The part that took the most time was removing the old assembly. Once that was done, the rest took only a few minutes.
I just ordered a new wire oven rack from you. When it came all I had to do was to remove it from the carton it came in and place it in the oven. It fit perfectly. Thanks
Although this was not a repair I wanted to let you know your service was outstanding and the price quite reasonable. I am very happy to finally have a much needed second rack in my oven that was not there when I purchased my home. Thank You
