Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
The power had gone out and must have sent a surge that fried the ERC. I didn't know that but looked up the "F1" error code that was displayed on the screen online. Once I knew what part to replace it was easy. I just searched out the part on this site and ordered it. I ordered it on a Tuesday
First I unplugged the unit. I removed 4 screws to remove the back plate. Removed 4 screws to remove the ERC unit. ( Plastic casing and all) Peeled the front cover off the old unit and stuck it on the new. Removed one wire at a time and plugged it into the new so I didn't mess up the wiring. screwed my 8 screws back in, plugged it in, and started cooking.
1. Flip "OFF" circuit breaker. 2. Pull out range unit from wall. 3. Unplug range unit. 4. On the back of the range unit, remove 4 screws holding lower rear cover using a phillips head screwdriver. 5. Remove lower rear cover. 6. Unplug temperature sensor connector (1 wire connector located upper right section behind oven). 7. From inside oven (upper left, back corner), remove 2 screws holding temperature sensor unit using a Phillips head screwdriver. 8. Remove old temperature sensor unit. 9. Insert new temperature sensor unit (wire connector end first) through opening and secure reusing old screws. 10. Re-connect temperature sensor connector. 11. Re-attach and secure lower rear cover reusing 4 old screws. 12. Plug in range unit. 13. Move range unit back to desired location. 14. Flip "ON" circuit breaker.
Removed all terminals and block mounting screws. Repaired one burnt terminal and reassembled. Replacement part was an exact fit and reassembly whnet very well.
A Home Depot employee advised me on how to enter all my oven information found on the front of my oven on parts.com. I submitted parts information as stated, also very easy. My parts arrived 3 days later. I used a screwdriver & pliers, it took less than 15 minutes. Very simple and the entire process from order to installation went like clockwork. I would definitely order in the future. Thank you.
The repair was easy. I removed the 4 screws to the upper rear cover in the back of oven then unscrewed the 4 screws holding the ERC, Elec Conv-Geneses and undid the 6 color wire conects and the 4 wire plugin. The color wires are labled on diagram and on part. Replaced the divice and reconnected it the same way it in reverse.
However that was not the problem. There was nothing wrong with my ERC, ELEC CONV-GENESIS. I did not check the power to the circuit. I just figured that it was getting power since the indicator lights were working. One of the 240 circuit of the circuit breaker was bad (burned out). I turned off the main and replaced the circuit breaker. Works fine now. One learns by there mistakes. Hope this helps... O by the way I thought I would keep the part just in case I might need it in the future as a backup.
Had to replace a rubber whee that was part of one of the drawer slides.
I was surprised when I was able to find that the (10 year old) parts for one of the drawer slides of my stove were still available. However, I was disappointed that the small bolt that I ordered did not come with a nut. I was lucky to find one in a collection of nuts in my workshop, and so was able to fix the slide. However, I suggest that if you supply someone with a bolt, that you include the nut that is necessary to make it work.
Loss of power, then low power, fried the orginal ERC
Remove the 4 screws to the upper rear cover in the back of oven then unscrew the 4 screws holding the ERC, Elec Conv-Geneses and undo the 6 color wire conects and the 4 wire plugin. The color wires are labled on diagram and on part. Replaced the divice and reconnected it the same way it in reverse.
It may help to remove the screws in the lower cover panels on the back of the oven to help reassembly.
fi code appeared in the clock area. I called the factory and they told me it was generally the electronic control.
I took the back off the stove and four screws were removed to replace the old unit with the new one. Very easy. I also used the parts diagram from part select to find the part and order it. there follow up for shipping was great.
I snapped a bolt on the main power terminal block when connecting the pigtail.
Removed the small metal panel covering the main power terminal in back of the electric range. Removed the nuts holding the red, white and black electrical wires from the range using the appropriate socket (there will be two nuts on each bolt end). Removed the two screws holding the main power terminal block with appropriate screw driver. Connect the new main power terminal block to the range using the two screws. Reconnect the red, black and white electrical wires coming from the range using one nut for each wire. IMPORTANT: do no over tighten the nuts because the bolts could snap. Reconnect the pigtail and secure the small metal panel covering the main power panel.
Ordering the part online was easy. It arrived in a timely manner. I found a terrific video online showing how to install the terminal. It was so easy. Thank you for the great instructional video.
