The knob on my stove broke...
This stove is close to 10 years old. It must be deaf, because our other appliances, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and disposal all have overheard us whenever we've discussed money. (NEVER discuss money within earshot of an appliance. They will break down if they hear that you got your income tax refund, or any money at all.)
First, I ordered the part. Because I've had this problem before, I didn't balk at ordering four knobs instead of one, like last time it broke.
Second, I waited a day or so, and when I needed to use the burner that had a bum knob, I switched the knob from another burner.
Third, I received the package with the new knobs and opened it. Inside were four knobs in plastic bags.I opened the plastic bags. (Maybe this is another step. I don't know.
Fourth, I put the knob on the stem that extends from the stove itself.
