Bad rotary switch and backsplash

Shut off the Electric at the breaker panel. With a Philips head screw driver took off the metal plate, and slide the backsplash out of its holders. Twisted the three switches, twisting to the left to remove them and replace the back splash, controller, timer switch and installed the new rotary switch with a right twist. There are three wires on the rotary switch, just follow the line of the old switch. Replaced the back metal panel, and turn on the breaker. Replacement takes about 30 minutes along with putting the dryer back in place. Read more...

Clip holding the start switch on the backsplash broke and the start switch shorted out

I opened the back of the dryer to figure out what went wrong. Then I ordered the parts after looking them up on the website and spoke with a wonderful person who helped me be sure I got the right parts. When they came I took off the clips for the old start switch and had to replace a clip (which I got at ACE hardware and they told me how to crimp it on). I watched the video on the website which was very helpful.

I replaced the start switch and a new backsplash (all the other switches were fine), screwed everything back together and it all worked perfectly!

Just to say I am a Chiropractor, not a repair person and I'm excited it went so well. Read more...

On/Off switch was broken on the back where it is fastened to the back panel.

This was on my Mother-In-Laws Washing Machine. She must have gotten a little 'mean' with the switch and it broke loose from the back panel.....plastic. I ordered a new back panel and received it fairly quickly, then sent my wife over to put it on. It took her less than 15 minutes to remove the broken one and install the new one. The front panel has wear and tear, as was the drum bearing with broken pieces. To buy a new dryer would be several hundred dollars. A repairman told us it is not worth trying to replace the front panel. I found part select and ordered the required parts. All in all my cost is just over 200 dollars and I have a like new dryer. The front panel does not exactly fit my dryer (I guess my dryer is older) so I had to drill two holes to fit the bottom catch plate. I followed the video instructions. It was easy. Read more...
