Maytag Washer Direct Drive Water Pump
PartSelect Number PS11741239
Manufacturer Part Number WP3363394
The direct drive drain pump (Whirlpool Direct Drive Washer Pump, Drain Pump, Washer Drain Pump, Water Pump) removes water from the washer during the drain cycle without the use of a belt. The pump is supposed to drain the water from the washer; if the water isn’t draining or if there is a leak, you may have a problem with your pump. You must replace this part if there is a blockage or clog. Although the symptoms may point to a malfunctioning drain pump, there could actually be a problem with one of the connecting hoses. This pump connected directly to the motor, and comes in white plastic. This replacement part features 1 direct drive water pump with 2 ports for water to pass through: a large one and a smaller one.

Maytag Washer Drain Pump Kit
(3) I packed towels under the washer.
(4) I slowly removed the cleanout in the front of the pump, using the water vac to catch the water as it leaked out.
(5) I removed the wiring to the motor.
(6) I removed the screw that holds the pump in place with a Torx T-20 socket.
(7) I pulled the pump forward so the clamps that hold the drain hose and discharge hose could be removed using the hose clamp pliers. ( they come off much easier then they go back on ).
(8) I tested the pump and found it would run but was making a lot of noise and running slow.
(9) To reinstall start with number (7) and work backwards to number (1) skipping (3) and (4).

Maytag Washer Water-Pump
PartSelect Number PS11738156
Manufacturer Part Number W10876600
This drain pump is specially designed to fit in top load washing machines. It is responsible for removing water from the washer tub during the drain cycle and directing it to the household plumbing system through the drain hose. If you notice longer draining times, grinding or rattling sounds, or standing water in the tub at the end of a cycle, the drain pump is likely faulty. This may be due to several reasons such as normal aging, wiring problems or physical damage. It is also common for the drain pump to become clogged with small items such as coins or buttons.

Maytag Washer PUMP-WATER
PartSelect Number PS11757016
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10661045
This genuine OEM drain pump is designed for washing machines. It is responsible for removing the wastewater from the machine during the drain cycle. The drain pump works by creating suction to draw water out of the tub and push it out through the drain hose. Signs of a faulty drain pump include the washer failing to drain water properly, leaving clothes wet at the end of the cycle, or loud, unusual noises during the drain cycle, such as grinding or humming sounds. Additionally, if the drain pump is visibly damaged, or leaking, then it likely needs to be replaced. You can find the drain pump located at the bottom of the washing machine.

Pump was making a grinding noise
The pump is located behind a small panel on the back, lower left side of my washer. It's attached to the bottom frame with 3 screws. It has two hoses attached, each with one spring clamp. Lift one side of the washer and slip the drive belt off the pully. Release the spring clamps on the hoses with a pair of pliers and remove the hoses. A small amount of water will drain from the hoses and pump when removed. Remove the three screws holding the pump to the frame and remove the pump. Install the new pump in the same position. Reattach the hoses, replace the belt, and reinstall the cover panel. That's all there is to it.

Code indicating washer was NOT discharging water
Watched the video, procedure was simple and as depicted on the video. Started by using a wet shop Vac to the discharge hose and sucked as much dirty wash water out as possible. Removed the pump, and found the motor did not turn freely. Removed the motor (3 screws) and replaced the motor with new part. Reassembled the washer, everything worked as it should. After about 3-4 loads of laundry, the "Not Draining" code / problem returned. Again, sucked out the water with the Shop Vac. Checked the Filter /Cleanout and found it completely packed with MUD. Cleaned that out, and again disassembled the washer. The pump was removed and the remaining muddy gunk was cleaned from the impeller. The 3 drain lines that attached to the pump were inspected for blockage/obstruction and flushed of any muddy residue. Reassembly was quick and easy, and the washer has worked well since. I have no idea how the dirt got into the system with enough dirt to gunk up the system. Recommend keeping more frequent inspections of the cleanout trap.
