Nothing to it. Just remember to put the insert in the knob, NOT on the selector stem. Line up the flat part of the insert with the flat part of the stem and push the knob in place.

The broke of the knob and had to replace the whole mother board and the knob
I had to remove the whole top of the washer and unplugged all the wire to the board. Getting the board out was the hardest thing to do because no screws it was clamped in place. Once I figured how to unclamped the thing without breaking it, it was relatively simple and to only 15 min to button it back up.
This timer knob lets you choose and change wash or dry cycles. It has a stainless steel finish, dark gray grips, and a D-shaped opening that fits the control shaft. Replace it if the knob is cracked, loose, worn, or missing. Before ordering, inspect the shaft and timer because a new knob will not fix a broken control. Confirm fit with the full appliance model. Unplug the machine, pull the old knob straight off, line up the flat sides, and press the new knob on without force. Check that the pointer matches each setting.

All I did was put the three pieces together (1-2-3! So easy) and attached to the metal piece of the dryer. Now I can set the dryer to any temperature and time I need!

laundromat down the street to dry our clothes. Finally I got online to google the part number to see what I could find out and that's when I ran across this site. It gave me HOPE and all that I needed to know to fix it instead of hauling it back down those stairs and out of my life!!! First I bought an OHM meter, completely stripped down my dryer checking every part until I found one that was questionable (timer resistor assembly) and one that was definitely dead (a thermostat)...no reading! It's no wonder it was burnt out, the front cover of the dryer was impacted with lint that had no where else to go! Now I understand exactly why my mother & dad always reminded us to "clean out the lint filter". They must have gone through this once before themselves. I ordered the replacement parts late one evening and they showed up at my door by 2:00 pm the next day...it was awesome!!!!!! A big learning experience for me and it saved me a fortune.
