No power to the fan and compressor
I have a fridge in my garage. I have found that a glass of ice water or a cold drink outside is very important to me. When I discovered melting ice dripping onto the garage floor I was very upset. I spun the fridge and found that the compressor and fan weren't starting. I got out my multi-meter and discovered that power was not making it to these components. I did some research and found the wiring diagram online. There really isn't too much going on with a fridge and the most likely candidate seemed to be the run capacitor. I ordered the part, replaced it in a few minutes and the fridge began working again.

General Electric Refrigerator Run Capacitor
PartSelect Number PS11743364
Manufacturer Part Number WP65889-4
This part helps the compressor kick on and off while maintaining a constant temperature to keep things frozen in your freezer. If you are noticing temperature issues with your refrigerator or freezer, the run capacitor may need replacing. This repair is fairly easy to complete, and the only tools you will require are a 1/4 inch nut driver, and a 1/4 inch socket with a small ratchet. The run capacitor is located in the back of the fridge, so you will need to make sure you have room to work on this repair. Make sure to unplug the fridge prior to beginning the repair.

The compressor would not run.
I removed the screws in the lower back panel where the compressor is located. Then I unplugged the capacitor and plugged the new one in. I then checked to see if the compressor would start. It wouldn't so I replaced the overload relay with capacitor and that fixed the problem. The capacitor just plugs into the relay then plugs into the compressor. There are several screws but all in all it is easy.

Refrigerator would not get cold although condensor fan worked. The compressor did not come on.
I replaced the capacitor first but the compressor still did not come on. After trying the new capacitor I removed the old board( marked the connectors just in case) then installed the new board. The major difference on the new board was the grounding wire which was simple to connect. The old board didn't have one. Once installed everything worked fine. The directions were easy to follow. I ordered the parts late Sunday night and I received the parts by Wednesday! That was fast. Thanks for the help, and this was much cheaper than calling the appliance service.
