This is a replacement shelf bar end cap. The end cap connects to the shelf bar on either side, and then snaps into position on the freezer door. This will allow you to store items in the freezer door. It is a little more than 2 inches long and is made of white plastic. To replace the end cap, you can simply depress the locking tab and remove the entire bar and end cap assembly. Then, use a flat blade screwdriver to depress the locking tab, and the endcap will detach. Finally, snap the new end cap locking tabs into place, and snap the bar assembly back onto the freezer door. This product is sold individually.

This is the replacement door shelf retainer bar end cap for your refrigerator. An end cap connects to the lower shelf bar on either side, and then snaps into position on the refrigerator door, allowing you to store items in the refrigerator door. To replace the end cap, simply disengage the whole bar assembly from the refrigerator door, then disengage the hook on the end cap from the rest of the bar assembly. Snap the end cap back into place, and connect it back to the refrigerator door. This part is sold individually.

Door shelf retainer bar endcap support broke

This was really a simple repair. I just kind of pried the shelf retainer bar bottom slot that holds the old endcap on out a little and was able remove the end cap and replace it with the one from 'partselect.com' and reinstalled the end cap - this was a simple repair and I'm glad that they had the part. It was also simple to find on their site.

P.S. This may or may not help; while the refrigerator is a 'Kenmore', I found through researching that it was actually made by G.E. and branded for Kenmore. Read more...

This part is the replacement door shelf retainer bar end cap for the left side of your refrigerator door. The end cap is approximately 4 inches by 5 inches and is made of white plastic. The end cap snaps into place on the refrigerator door so you can attach the door shelf retainer bar to the inner door liner. The main reason to replace the end cap is if it is broken, and the retainer bar cannot connect to the refrigerator door. To replace the end cap, simply disconnect it from the refrigerator door and the shelf retainer bar, and replace it with a new end cap. This part is for the left side of the shelf bar only, and the cap for the right side is sold separately. This is an OEM part from the manufacturer.

Could Not Use Shelf On Inside Refrigerator Door

All I had to do was snap in the right/left end caps (clip action) to the inside refrigerator door slots and then slide the sides of the end caps into the bar across the shelving that prevents contents from falling out. (I did not have to remove original end caps, since I no longer had them) inserting end caps to the inside door took less than five minutes. I was considering purchasing a new refrigerator before I decided to purchase the end caps. No need for a new refrigerator now.
