i ordered the part and it arrived damaged. I called, was told I would receive a return slip, I called again a few days later, was told I needed to send a picture of the damage, so the agent could submit it. First I've heard of this. In the meantime, I did get a replacement bin. I did get a refund for the damaged bin, but not for shipping charges. not at all happy

I took the broken part off the bar, put the new part on the bar, snapped it into the fridge, threw the old part out, opened the fridge admired my work, while I was ther I grabbed a beer....couldnt have gone better.

freezer door guard broken off
I placed the new part on the end of the freezer door guard and firmly pushed it in until it 'clicked'. Easy as pie! The more difficult part was to remove the broken off part inside the opening of the freezer door hwere the new bar end was to be inserted. I finally used thin nose pliers to reach in and grab the broken off part.

General Electric Refrigerator Door Shelf Retainer Bar End Cap

This is a replacement shelf bar end cap. The end cap connects to the shelf bar on either side, and then snaps into position on the freezer door. This will allow you to store items in the freezer door. It is a little more than 2 inches long and is made of white plastic. To replace the end cap, you can simply depress the locking tab and remove the entire bar and end cap assembly. Then, use a flat blade screwdriver to depress the locking tab, and the endcap will detach. Finally, snap the new end cap locking tabs into place, and snap the bar assembly back onto the freezer door. This product is sold individually.
