Kenmore Freezer Filters

Popular Kenmore Freezer Filters

This refrigerator water filter replacement is for 2010 LG refrigerators that have either forward French doors or are the four-door dispensing models. This filter is designed to minimize impurities that can cause ill-tasting water or an unpleasant smell. It reduces sediment, dirt, rust, limescale, sand, and many other contaminants that can be harmful to your health and the life of your appliance. This filter should be replaced every 6 months or 200 gallons to ensure top quality performance. To remove your unwanted filter, press the push button to open the filter cover (water may spill from the hole), pull out the old cartridge in a downward motion. To install the new filter, make it so the ears are in the horizontal position and push the new cartridge into the housing until it stops. Push the filter upward until it is secure. Click the cover to lock it in place. Run water for approximately 5 minutes to prep the filter for use, and discard water. Reset the “filter reset” button if applicable.

This refrigerator water filter is designed to improve the taste and odor of both water and ice by reducing a wide range of contaminants. Utilizing an activated carbon block filtration method, it effectively captures impurities such as lead, chlorine, mercury, cysts, asbestos, and particulates, while allowing fluoride to pass through. The filter is certified to meet NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53 for water purification, ensuring reliable performance and safety. With a lifespan of approximately six months or 300 gallons—depending on water quality and usage—it provides consistent filtration and supports the overall efficiency of your refrigerator’s water system.

A filter-drier in a refrigerator has two essential functions. The first is to absorb system contaminants, such as water, which can create acids. The second is to provide physical filtration. This means trapping moisture, small metal chips, and dirt found in the refrigerant gas. If your refrigerator motor is constantly running, but the refrigerator is not getting cold, the issue could be due to a damaged or faulty filter-drier. Faulty filter-driers are sometimes the cause for abnormal freezer compartment temperatures and partially frosted evaporators. This filter-drier is approximately 11 inches long. Remember to disconnect the power from your refrigerator before beginning this repair.
