Pump Motor Failed
First, remove the 2 screws that hold the lower front cover in place, remove the cover and disconnect the plug and the ground wires from the pump. Next attach the washing machine drain hose to a wet vac, since even if the machine is empty, there will still be water in the outer tub and the pump. Suck the whole thing dry, remove the 2 bolts that hold the cover onto the pump, use a pliers to remove the 2 hose clamps, remove the hoses (no mess because of the vacuum). Remove the 2 screws that hold the pump to the base of the washer and remove the pump. Save the mounting bracket from the bottom of the pump. Orient the outlet on the new pump to match your old one if needed, instructions to do this are included with the new pump. Install the mounting bracket onto the new pump. Mount the pump to the washing machine base, reconnect the hoses, the cover and the wiring. Put the drain hose back into your drain. Run the machine, check for function and leaks. If all is well, replace the lower cover. Don't forget to tell your wife that the job was a whole lot harder than it looked.

motor burned out, tub quit going around
First I turned off the water and disconnected the hoses. I took off the back panel and unscrewed the 4 bolts holding the motor in place. The grounding screw was impossible to remove, so I had to cut the wire off. Took out motor and disconnected the electrical connector. Put new motor in (ordered new belt, figuring it would need replacing - was still in excellent shape, but replaced it anyway), bolted in the motor (socket set works best on further away bolts, screwdriver for closer ones). Put the belt on the motor first and then pulled it up over the side of the tub and turned the tub to get it around the whole tub - took alittle bit of turning to get it on. Plugged in electrical connector and screwed grounding wire into hole. Replaced back panel and water hoses. Got a bit dirty and sweaty but not too hard to do it yourself, as I am a 48 yr woman and don't usually do this kind of thing.

Motor was overheating and kickins off during the cycle
After turning the water off and removing the hoses,I pulled the top off by removing the 2 screws from the clips in the back and popping the 2 spring clips in the front. I then removed the 2 side screws left and right to allow room for the sides to move out of the way of the motor. The back panel is spot welded so the panels stayed connected. I then removed the 2 screws from the water overflow guard on the motor. Once removed I unplugged the wire harness from the motor. After that the 4 nuts were taken off of the bottom of the motor. I pushed the belt tensioner in and pulled the motor out. Install the motor making sure the nuts are tight as they can work loose from vibration.

Washing machine would not spin.
I removed the two screws in the front panel. Visually everything looked good. Luckily there was an envelope with a wiring diagram and a test procedure. A word of caution-the tests require checking voltages of 120 volts AC which can kill you. If you are comfortable with a multimeter and AC, continue reading. You must remove the back panel and hoses to continue. Following the step by step tests, voltage and resistance, the procedure said to replace the motor control board. After replacing the board and a new belt since the old belt looked worn, the washer still didn't spin. I followed the test procedure again and had good readings for all of the steps and the board. This left the motor windings to check. Since I'm not an electrician I wasn't sure how to check the windings but this was the last step so I ordered the motor. The install was straight forward and everything now worked. Total cost was $221.00 for the board and belt plus $275.00 for the motor, $496.00. This is still cheaper than a new machine and a lot less hassle.
