PartSelect Number PS334646
Manufacturer Part Number 285805
The water inlet valve on your washing machine is used to fill the tub with cold, warm, or hot water for the wash and rinse cycles. This part could have either a blue or green-colored valve body. There are two ports for water to enter and this valve is compatible with a half-inch ID hose. It has two 3/4-11x1/2 NHT hose threads. You may have a faulty valve if your washer is leaking, has no hot or cold water, will not stop filling with water, will not fill with water, fills and drains at the same time, or is noisy. To confirm that the valve is faulty, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then the inlet valve is defective.

Crosley Washer Water Inlet Valve

PartSelect Number PS11773194
Manufacturer Part Number W11038689
This is an inlet valve for various washing machines. Inlet valves are responsible for opening and closing as needed, to allow water to enter the washer during the washing cycle. This inlet valve features a hot and cold-water valve, as well as the necessary wire harness to easily plug it in. Since inlet valves are an electrically controlled solenoid valve, they can fail either due to electrical failure such a short, or after long, extended use. If your inlet valve fails, your washer will likely relay an error code, or it simply will not wash your clothes due to the lack of water, and the valves will need to be replaced. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver and/or socket wrench, and some disassembly of your washer will be necessary. This inlet valve is an individually sold OEM part and does not come with any accessories or other parts.

This is a water inlet valve for models of Whirlpool washing machines. The water inlet valve is designed to regulate and control the water entering the appliance depending on the cycle, using an electrical device called a solenoid. This water inlet valve features two inlets, one for hot water and one for cold, as well as a wire harness to power and control the electric solenoid of each. If your washer is having issues with filling, the inlet valve is likely bad or potentially worn out and in need of replacement. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver, wrench, and pliers. Post drip from water inlet
To replace the inlet solenoid valve/thermistor assembly:
Unplug the washer.
Turn the water off and unscrew the hoses from the inlet.
Unsnap the end caps from the top control panel.
Remove the exposed screws from each end of the panel (#2 Phillips).
Pull the panel out of the way and pop out the two retaining clips that hold the back of the machine to the cabinet. They are located under the control panel.
Remove the mounting screw from the valve assembly (1/4-inch driver).
Pull the back away from the cabinet far enough to remove the valve, but don't let the wires get cut.
Disconnect the wires. To unplug the solenoid connectors, lift the long tab with a screwdriver.
Disconnect the water outlet hose.
Connect the wires and hose to the new valve assembly. The red connector goes to the hot water valve. The thermistor wires (the two individual connectors) can be connected to either terminal. It does not matter if they are reversed.
Put the valve back in place and install the screw.
Hook up and turn the water on.
Plug in the machine and test the valve.
Unplug the power and reinstall the back and the control panel. The back-to-cabinet clips can be snapped back in place easily.

Valve dispener would spray water all over inside of washer.
My husband made the repair. First, he had to remove the dryer off of the top of the washer since it's a stacking unit. Disconnect water lines. Next he removed two screws from the back of the washer that allows you to remove the lid. Now unsnap a trim piece that is on the back surrounding the water connections and an exhaust port. Reach inside the washer, turn the exhaust port unlocking it and pushing out the back of the washer as far as you can to get it out of the way. Disconnect the electrical lines from the valve dispenser. Remove the two screws that fasten the valve dispenser to the washer. Install the new dispenser and reassemble. Read more...

Installation Instructions

No cold water cycle and water constantly dripping into the tub
- Shut off the cold & hot water supply lines.
- Turned on a quick cycle to drain any water left in the pipes. Once no water was coming in I turned off the unit.
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove the cold and hot water lines from the back of the unit. Keep a bucket and towels nearby.
- Remove the 3 screws from the back to remove the lid.
- Pull lid back about a 1/4" and lift up.
- The valve is located at the top rear where the water hoses attach to.
- Using plyers, remove the plastic clips from the valves holding the wires. Remember the location, you will re-attach those clips onto the new valve.
- Remove the single screw holding the valve on the back of the unit.
- Slide the valve just slightly and pull it inward towards the inside of the unit.
- Remove the electronic connections by pulling on the connectors. Remember the locations as you will re-attach them onto the new valve.
- Remove the two hoses that go to the detergent container. Using plyers to squeeze the metal retaining clip, slide it back, then pull the hose off. Do this for both hoses. Remember which hose goes to where.
- At this point, just reverse these instructions to install the new valve starting by attaching the new hoses to the detergent container.
- Then attach the electronic connectors.
- Attach the valve with the screw to the unit.
- Attach the wire clips back onto the valve.
- Attach the hot & cold water lines
- Turn on the water lines and check for leaks
- Plug unit in.
- Run a quick cycle to again check for leaks inside and outside.
- Replace the lid
- Re-install the 3 screws holding the lid.
