Surface Burner Element Switch, Large Burner
PartSelect Number PS11740783
Manufacturer Part Number WP3149400
This surface burner element switch is for an 8-inch surface burner on an oven, stove, or range. The element switch controls the heat of the surface burner. Disconnect power to your range before completing this repair because you will be working closely with electrical circuits. Remove the screws from back panel and the console, and remove the console to expose the switch. It is recommended to check for overheating or arcing on the wiring harness in case they need to be replaced as well. The harness that connects to the switch features a slip-on terminal for easy installation.

the element did not turn compleatly off, the on light stayed on.
removed the screws holding the back metal panel, this exposed the wires to the switch. tested the wires to find that they were live when the switch was in the off position. ordered a new switch. UNPLUGED THE STOVE. removed the knob on the front of the stove. this exposed 2 screws, removed screws and the switch came away from the stove. removed each wire from the old switch and replaced them in the same position on the new switch. inserted new switch into the stove and attached the 2 screws. replaced back panel and pluged in stove. all tested well

Infinite Switch - 8 Inch
It was fairly easy to take the "Control Deck" off the top of the range by removing about 8 screws. I leaned the deck forward without removing any wires except a green ground that was held on by one of the screws.
There are two small screws under the switch knob holding the Infinite Switch to the panel. I removed these and let the switch hang on the wires. To avoid missplacing or crossing the wires... I moved one wire at a time to the new switch, then attached the switch to the panel and put it all back together.
Whole job was done in about 15 minutes Read more...

the heating element controls had a few dead spots when setting temperatures
turn off breaker to stove. open oven door and locate two screws that are above the door that hold down the bottom of the front panel. the screws were not common headed but I had some odd ball screw driver heads that fit. the front panel had to be pulled out a little then lifted vertically to unhook it from the lip on the top of the stove. after removing the knob there are two screws hidden under it that hold the control module too the panel. the light on the front panel can be sli to the side to release it from the panel so that you have more slack to unplug and change the wires from the old control module to the new. screw retaining screws back through front panel to new control module. slide light back onto lens in control panel. hang control panel back on stove and secure with the two screws above the front stove door. press new knob on. turn breakers back on

center element of triple burner was not working.
I pulled the unit out from the wall. Took the screws out along the sides. Removed screw holding the front controls loose. First I changed the control switch which was very easy. Two screws and a couple of wires. The burner was a bit more tricky. I had propped the glass cook top up so I would not have to disconnect to many wires. Took out the screws holding the burner in place and disconnected the wires. I removed the clips from the old burner and attatched them to the new burner, then reinstalled the new burner. The only real problem was the wires. I forgot the order of a couple of them. I was able to check on line and get the correct order.
