Replace shattered outer door glass
This is not the best design. You'll need to have an extra set of hands to hold the trim pieces in place. Remember the glass is positioned outside [on top of]the trim pieces. Be careful as the trim pieces are rather brittle and can be hard to locate in their proper position. Position glass in the holding tabs at the bottom, hold glass against the trim pieces and gently position door handle over glass and trim. The handle holds everything together. No instructions are shipped w/ parts. Read more...

I had several broken appilances broken with parts to be replaced.
I had ordered the parts from Part Select and came with in a week. I ahd a Whrilpool microwave that had a door panel and vent grille that needed to be replaced and that was rplced with ease took less that five minutes to do. My Maytag refridgerator had it kickplate grille replace along with the pivot block that took all of about two minutes. The longest job that took about 5 minutes was my Whirlpool glass oven door that needed to be replaced, but that was pretty ease to replace also with an extra hand from my son. I just didn't want to break another glass door or I would have done it myself plus I was teaching him how to do self reparts. Read more...

the screw came out of the oven door and the snapped the side molding in half
Well I had my oven door ducked taped together. I Am a 51 yr old female and I laid on the floor on my back to see if I could get the rest of the molding out without having to take off the entire oven door. I was able yo pop out the rest of the broken molding. I wasn't able to snap in the put it under the front of the oven door hold it together and screw in my new screw on the inside of the oven door. IT WORKED!! If I can do this so can you. Read more...

Lower Door Trim gets rusty
I have removed this piece once before and painted it,
but it is difficult to prepare surface.

I tried to replace the part without removing the door
but had difficulty getting the screws to line up.

So, I took the door off. Forgot that you are supposed to jam
the spring hinges in the open position before you remove the door. Manual describes how to do this but picture is not very helpful. So I made two wooden dowels about 3/8" in dia by about 3/4" long. Opened the hinge with a screwdriver and jammed the dowels in place.

Door Trim went on easily and the oven door went back on quickly.

Surprised they don't make this trim piece with rust proof material.
