Surface Burner Element Switch, Large Burner Specifications
This surface burner element switch is for an 8-inch surface burner on an oven, stove, or range. The element switch controls the heat of the surface burner. Disconnect power to your range before completing this repair because you will be working closely with electrical circuits. Remove the screws from back panel and the console, and remove the console to expose the switch. It is recommended to check for overheating or arcing on the wiring harness in case they need to be replaced as well. The harness that connects to the switch features a slip-on terminal for easy installation.

Easy part find and replacement
Your part finding platform is great. It had my exact model number (other searches elsewhere did not have an exact match), so I was able to find my part from the easy to see exploded parts diagrams. The written description was clear, and the video showing how to replace the part bolstered my confidence that I could do this myself. The new part is in and the surface burner seems to be working properly again. Thank you.

Large burner switch
Everything went smoothly except the shaft of the replacement switch was slightly smaller than the shaft of the original switch so, I wrapped is few turns of nylon tape around the shaft of the new switch and the wife doesn’t know the difference. Need I say more?

R/Front Range Element would not change to Med or Low setting. Stayed on full hot and burned food.
I disconnected power cord from house current. Removed back panels (2). I then removed round knob on front of range. I then removed the 2 screws holding the switch in place. After doing that, I gently removed the actual switch itself from back of face panel. I then separated the 2 elements of the switch.
I took new replacement
... Read moreswitch and reinstalled the 2 parts of switch and placed back into hole in face panel. I reinserted the 2 front screws that holds the switch in place. I put the selection knob back on. However, the knob does not fit tightly. The shaft on the switch itself is to long, but the switch works fine. You do not even know that knob sticks out further than before. I plugged unit back into house current and tested range element to see if it works. It did so with no problem. I then replaced rear panels and secured all screws back to their original location and that was all there was to it.
No problem. Was a fast and effective installation.

Could not control temperature for 8" burner (front right).
The repair was easy. I unplugged the stove, removed back panel, pulled knob and removed 2 screws to remove switch. Unplugged old switch, plugged in new one and installed the 2 screws for switch. Hello Bob, thank you for contacting us. It does sound like you would need to replace the switch due to the run away element, that should fix the problem. Hope this helps!

Hello, When I turn the knob on for the large burner, I hear a popping and crackling noise behind the knob (like an electrical arc). Is it the switch that needs replacing? If so what is the part number I need to lookup?

Hi Rob,
Thank you for your question. If you are hearing a popping sound behind the knob, then the issue is the switch and you will need to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello, I need a replacement switch for the large burner on my range for model number YWFE510S0ES0. The website is only listing a 8 inch switch. Is this switch used for both the small and large burner?
For model number YWFE510S0ES0
Hi Rob,
Thank you for your question. There would be a switch for the dual burner, the 8 inch burner and the 6 inch burner. The part number listed under your model number for the dual burner switch is PS11754687, the part number listed for the 8 inch burner switch is PS11740783 and the part number listed for 6 inch burner switch is PS11740785. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When using my large front stove eye, i can have it set on medium heat, and it will turn itself up until the element is red hot. The only way i can make it cooler, is to turn it off and start over again. What could this be ?

Hello Cheryl, thank you for inquiring. This is due to either a faulty Surface Element, part number PS11751367, or Surface Burner Element Switch, part number PS11740783 for your model. Good luck with your repair!

Large non-dual front burner began to lose temperature control and ultimately stopped working. What is the likely problem? Thanks.

Hi Ken, Thank you for the question. I would first check the switch for continuity and if the switch is good you may need to replace the element its self. Hope this helps!
