Wanted to update surface parts to a very old (27 yrs?) Jenn-air range on an island
The first task was to find the rings, drip bowls and elements on the "PartSelect" webpage. It was surprising easy, especially since I have no experience whatsoever in replacing range parts. The ordering was straight-forward, and most of the parts arrived within a week, a couple were back-ordered, but arrived a week later. Instillation was easy - just unplug elements, lift parts out, and insert new parts. I made a mistake in ordering - for the left side of the range, no adaptor rings are needed. I returned these excess parts to PartSelect, and within a week, they refunded the costs of these parts. Overall, I'm very please with the parts and service. Read more...

PartSelect Number PS1854703
Manufacturer Part Number 715877
The drip bowl is found under the 6-inch burner on your range. This square chrome stove top drip pan is intended for use with electric ranges. It has a 2-inch inner hole diameter and 7-inch outer diameter. Drip bowls should be cleaned regularly, and replaced when too much food and debris has been burned or stuck to it, making it too hard to clean. You should replace your drip pan if it is rusted or damaged. Grease, oil, and food can spill into your unit and become a fire hazard. This drip pan is dishwasher safe and is sold individually.

Door Hinge
★★★★★
★★★★★
(19)
PartSelect Number PS11744215
Manufacturer Part Number WP74008014
The hinges control the rate that the oven door opens and closes, and allows the door to stay open at an angle. This hinge can be used on either the left or right hand side of your oven, and is approximately 20 1/2 inches long. If your oven door will not open or close easily, you may need to replace this part. It may be a good idea to replace both hinges at the same time. If a spring has become loose on one hinge, the other hinge is likely to have the same issue. The repair is simple and only requires a Phillips screwdriver and a small bent nail. For a full step-by-step guide, check out the video below.

Oven door wouldn't close completely
Parts arrived in three days and it was an easy swap of the hinges but the same problem still existed: the oven door wouldn't close completely, so the oven light stayed on and the convection wouldn't work either unless the door closed all the way. The replacement hinge's springs apparently aren't strong enough to close it and the springs aren't adjustable - which is a design flaw. I did correct the problem though, by using three dollars worth of 1" round magnets, which I placed inside the door: they stay put and are strong enough to pull the door tight. Read more...

Chrome Drip Bowl - 8 inch
★★★★★
★★★★★
(41)
PartSelect Number PS11750107
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10196405
This manufacturer-certified drip bowl is also known as a drip pan, and it is designed for use with cooktops and ranges. It sits below 8-inch burner elements and catches drips and spills from the cookware on the burner. The diameter of the drip bowl is approximately 10 inches. This replacement might appear slightly different, but it will fit your appliance. You will need no tools to complete this repair. Simply remove the burner element, remove the old bowl, line up the hole on the new bowl with the terminal block and drop it into place. Make sure the bowl is flat before reinstalling the element. While you have the element out you should inspect the terminals for corrosion, damage, or discolouration. If you notice any of those things you should also replace the element and terminal block. You will need to replace your drip bowl if it is lost, damaged, or can no longer be cleaned. This replacement part is sold individually. To extend the life of your new drip bowl we recommend you clean it regularly with soap and water. We recommend only using the recommended drip bowl for your appliance; generic versions will not fit properly which could affect the performance of your elements and cause long-term damage.

Stove top element not working due to bad receptacle.
Turned off the power at the breaker box, cut the wires approximately 5 inches from the bad receptacle and removed it after removing one screw. Stripped back the wires about 1/2 inch and attached the new wires with the ceramic wire nuts provided and secured the receptacle back in place with the new screw provided in the kit.
My sister's husband wanted to scrap the whole range but I repaired it with $14.00 worth of parts.
The element is working great now.
Whenever I need appliance parts again I'll use partselect.com.

Surface Burner Switch - 240V

Fixes these symptoms

Installation Instructions
James H from Oxford, NY
Burner had one temperature--hot, regardless of setting
1. Killed power and removed the regulator's knob, noted the position of the old control.
2. Took off the cover for the center vent and loosened the two screw holding the housing in place--the screws didn't have to come out completely as it is a U-shaped friction hold.
3. Unscrewed the two screws holding the old control switch in place--lifted the housing enough to get at the old switch and carefully pulled it loose--it was a front burner so the control switch was about as far back as it could be but still wasn't that hard to get at.
4. Turned the new switch to orient the wire connectors, then, using a needle-nose pliers, removed each friction connector, one at a time, and fitted them on the new switch (note: one of the wires fitted best if it went under as opposed to around the base of the new switch).
5. Replaced the control back through the housing and screwed it in place, making sure the orientation of the control matched the way it looked originally.
6. Slide the housing back over the two screws and tightened, replace vent.
7. Replaced the knob and turned on the power.

(The above took me about twice as long to write as it did to make the repair and I write professionally but am not a professional electrician.)

Also, I bought a second control switch because, given the age of the unit, I'm sure another one will go. The second one will assure that it won't happen :-).

PartSelect Number PS884734
Manufacturer Part Number 8009
This an authentic OEM 40-Watt replacement light bulb, used in a number of household appliances. It is constructed of glass and metal and is sold individually. Depending on the appliance and location of the bulb within it, you may want to consider disconnecting power and using a flashlight for easier access to unscrewing and re-screwing in your bulb during this repair.
