PartSelect Number PS395284
Manufacturer Part Number 833697
This condenser fan motor kit is designed for use with refrigerators. This fan draws air through the condenser coils and over the compressor. It does this with the goal of cooling the warm refrigerant before it enters the evaporator. When your fan or fan motor is not working your refrigerator will not cool properly. This is a 2-Watt, 115 Volt motor that rotates the fan in a counter clockwise direction. This kit includes the hardware needed for installation, and a set of instructions. Before you begin any repair work make sure to unplug your appliance.

This condenser fan motor kit includes a motor, fan blade, wire harness, and screws. Used in a refrigerator, the condenser fan motor moves the condenser fan blade to direct and move air across the condenser coil. Please note: The manufacturer has changed the appearance of the product from the original. The kit still functions the same as the original part. It is an OEM factory replacement. Make sure to unplug the refrigerator from the power source and wear gloves to protect your hands. Also, a helpful tip is to store food to prevent deterioration when the power is off.

Seven year old condenser fan was making noise when it was running.
The process to repair was very simple, I removed the back of the refrigerator to expose the motor area. I then removed three screws that held the condenser motor in place. once it was loose I detactched the electrical harness and removed the old motor. I then placed the new motor in place and secured it with the screws and reattached the new electrical harness that came with the new part. Once completed I reviewed it to make sure I didn't miss anything. I then replaced the cover over the motor area and enjoyed my success in repairing my own appliance with no added cost for labor, which would have been expensive I'm sure. The part purchased came with clear and consice instructions very easy to follow. Read more...

Roper Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor - 60Hz 120V

PartSelect Number PS11749890
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10189703
This is a 60 Hertz, 120-volt evaporator fan motor for your refrigerator. This part is located in the back of the freezer, and circulates air over the refrigerator coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated. The most common reason for needing to replace the motor is if the temperature in your freezer and fridge are inconsistent, or there is no air circulating at all. You will need a quarter inch nut driver and a pair of needle nose pliers for this repair. Note: This motor uses 2 brackets, which are sold separately.

Fridge was warm. No air circulating at all. Food was spoiling Fridge was just over 1 year old
First I removed the two screws that secure the guard in bottom back of the freezer and removed it . Next I removed the two screws that secure the guard on the back wall of the freezer and removed it. There are three wires connected to the motor, I unplugged those and removed the two screws that secure the motor and removed it. I swapped the grommets, blade and support bracket from the old motor. I put it back together in reverse steps and its working great. My mother-in-law can,t stop thanking me ! I saved her at least $400 to buy a new fridge. Thank You, Brian Miner Read more...

The evaporator is found in the back of the freezer. This kit comes with two mounting grommets, two sleeves (not to be used on porcelain models), two #8 mounting screws, and a push-on fan blade. If you are experiencing symptoms such as the fridge making loud noises (generally stemming from the freezer compartment), or the fridge/freezer feeling warm in temperature, this may indicate a need to replace your evaporator fan motor. This part pulls air into the evaporator coils and then disperses the air in a continuous motion throughout the refrigerator and freezer. NOTE: NO LONGER ABLE TO GET BRACKETS. Unit very noisy and freezer too warm
First I removed the racks in the freezer. The rack supports on the sides lift off without tools. The evaporator cover is at the back of the freezer. 4 phillips head screws. The cover lifts up then forward to expose the evaporator, evaporator fan and duct. The duct is held by 3 hex head screws. The evaporator fan is attached to the duct with a wiring pigtail to a plug. Unplug the fan and remove the duct. The fan is held by 2 hexhead screws. The new fan is put in place and assembly is simply the reverse of disassembly. The unit is quiet and cools properly now. The new part fit perfectly. Read more...

KITCHEN AID SIDE-BY-SIDE REFRIGERATOR ICE-MAKER stopped working due to a broken motor assembly.
Changing the KITCHENAID MOTOR ASSEMBLY TO THE ICE-MAKER was fairly straightforward. The hardest part was figuring out WHAT was broken and how to fix it. I was determined to save myself hundreds of dollars by doing it myself and avoiding a visit by the 'repairman'.

1.) Went to KitchenAid website to look at Parts List for my side-by-side refrigerator and ice maker assembly (a PDF file, easily downloadable) . The illustrations helped me visualize the assembly and various parts involved.
2.) Removed cover on front of ice maker.
3.) Removed hex-head screw on undersurface of icemaker on the right, which stablilizes a plastic cover for the electrical connector to the ice maker. Once this is off, it's then possible to slide the ice maker out.
4.) Slide the ice maker out from it's 'shelf' in the freezer. You won't be able to completely remove it until you disconnect the power supply.
5.) Disconnect the multi-pin power connector. (It's probably safest to unplug the refrigerator altogether before doing this, but I did not. No exposed metal wiring or connectors. No problems when I did it this way.)
6.) Once the ice-maker was out, remove the white cover from the motor assembly (on the left side of the unit).
7.) Remove the three screws from the black housing of the motor assembly. (This is where I discovered that the connector between the motor and drive-train was broken and needed to be replaced.)
8.) Remove and replace the drive system for the ice cube ejector.
9.) Then reverse the steps to reassemble.

This may seem a bit vague, but it's really quite straightforward once the ice maker is out of the freezer. The replacement motor assembly includes the motor, the motor housing, the drive-train, and the ice-cube ejector. Very easy to re-asemble.

Shopping for and ordering the part took some time since there are so many different after-market parts dealers. In all honesty, I'm glad I decided on PartSelect.com. They had a decent price, safe checkout, and timely delivery. All the essentials of a good online store.

Thanks, and good luck to the next guy who has to deal with a KitchenAid snafu.

Roper Refrigerator Icemaker Control Assembly

26 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS2341896
Manufacturer Part Number W10190935
The “Icemaker Control Assembly” (Module & Motor Assembly, Ice Maker Control Module, Icemaker Module, Refrigerator Ice Maker Module) is what controls the actions of your ice maker. The control turns the timing cams and the ejector blades. It controls most of the basic parts and functions such as the heater, water inlet valve, the cube size, and cube ejection. If your ice maker control is broken it can no longer properly control the ice maker functions. It may not produce any ice, make small ice cubes, or have intermittent operation. This can occur due to normal wear and tear. The icemaker control assembly is attached to the ice maker mold, and is under the white cover. Test the icemaker control assembly by using a multimeter. If this reveals the assembly to be defective, you will need to replace this part. It is approximately 4.25 inches square, beige, and is constructed of plastic and metal. This replacement part features one icemaker control assembly, including the control module and the motor.

Believed the condensor motor was defective and causing strange odor
First disconnected the quick release electrical connection. Then loosened the three screws that were holding the motor in the bracket. However, space is limited and even with small hands it was rather difficult as the screws were in there very tight. There are a few sharp edges on the bracket and in the surrounding area of the motor area, and nicked myself a couple of times. Removed the fan blade from the old motor and attached it the new motor with the old flat washer/screw. Reconnected the electrical connection and that was that. All-in-all an easy repair. Read more...

The freezer section was working fine. Not properly cooling the refrigerator
I looked on line to see what was causes of the problem and determined that it was probably the fan in the freezer not working. I took the back section of the freezer apart and saw the fan was not running. I checked the parts on line and found that it was availiable and ordered a new fan motor. The blade looked fine, but I ordered a grommet anyway to ensure that there was no vibration problems causing the fan motor to go out. When the fan motor arrived, I began disconnecting the old one after unpluging the refridgerator and noting the terminals for the wires. The wire terminals were in a slightly different location, but reasoned out which wire belonged to the correct location. I pulled the old fan motor out, switched out the fan blade and grommet and re-incerted the new fan motor. I reconnected the wires and re-assembled the rear wall of the freezer. I plugged in the refridgerator and wa-la! It worked. Read more...

Front bearing had worn so that the fan vibrated causing the noise.
I removed the cardboard back then using a nut driver removed the three mounting screws, removed the old fan/motor and installed the new one, installing the three screws and replacing the cardboard cover.

My big problem was getting the right parts. Don't ever order refrigerator parts using the refrigerator model number. I did and got the wrong part, sent it back and talked to the parts lady and ordered again describing the error, the needed parts shape etc and she sent me the exact part I had sent back. I sent it back and removed the fan motor to get the part number, called and ordered by number and got the right one. Hallelujah!
