This refrigerator door shelf bin, also known as the door bin, or sometimes just a "bucket", is an authentic manufacturer-certified part made of white plastic and is easy to install. It is used to hold items in the fridge door, like jars, cans, and bottles, and you'll be able to visually see if the part is broken or warped. This particular shelf attaches directly to the fridge door; you should be able to pull out the old bin and snap the new one into place by observing the slots and pushing the bin down into them. You can check if this model is right for your appliance by checking your user manual and model number. The door bin measures about 18 inches wide, 4.5 inches high, by 7 inches deep. This door shelf bin is sold individually, so if your refrigerator takes multiple bins, which many do, you will need to order the appropriate amount of bins.

One of my door bins and filter cap broke.
I searched the model number for my Whirlpool refrigerator on the internet and partselect.com came up so I clicked on it. The site asked for my model number which I typed in and there it was...a picture of my refrigerator in full detail and very well diagramed and labeled. Door Shelf Retainer Bar End Cap

The door shelf retainer bar end cap connects to the retainer bar on your refrigerator’s door shelf, and attaches it to the refrigerator door. If your shelf retainer bar has become disconnected, a damaged end cap could be the cause. To remove the end cap, first unhook the release tab on both ends of the retainer bar. Slide out the bar and the end caps, and slide out the defective cap. Now, simply replace the end cap and snap the bar with end caps back in place on the refrigerator door. This part is made of white plastic and is sold individually.

Door Shelf End Cap Kit

End Cap bracket broken when shelf over-filled.
Brackets rotated outward and lifted to disengage from door. Front metal strip removed from broken bracket. New bracket placed on shelf strip ends and replaced into door mount plastic. Hardest part was caused by manufacturer changing number of part and supplying it as a "kit" with both left and right bracket, as opposed to previously marking each end LS of RS and changing the configuration so that LS became RS. Joelle, in Customer Service was wonderful in figuring out the number change and sending me the correct part after I realized the originally ordered part was for the wrong side.

bottom of the door handle had rusted out and fallen off, among other things.
I forgot to order all the parts i needed, and when I placed a second order for the remaining parts on the same day, PartSelect contacted me and asked if I wanted to consolidate the order and save on shipping. I thought this was very thoughtful. Anyway, the lower door handle was very easy to replace, I just cut the handle to the correct length with a hacksaw, put the new end cap on, and screwed it in. The inside shelf end caps were a snap too. Just remove the old ones and snap the new ones in place. Done!

Only had to carefully set glass shelf in frame -- no issues. I was able to use a screwdriver to remove the shelf support stud and basically pop the replacement back in with no issue.

Glass Pan Cover / Shelf Broke
First of all, here's a warning to all -- I took the glass shelf / pan cover out to clean it -- with a sponge wet with COLD water and the shelf literally exploded on me. This is the second such incident. Both times I have been lucky and no one was hurt.The shelf was easily identifiable by part number based on model number. Easy to locate the model number on plate above top shelf inside refrigerator (right hand side in my case).
Only had to carefully set glass shelf in frame -- no issues. I was able to use a screwdriver to remove the shelf support stud and basically pop the replacement back in with no issue.
